Guiliani, Trump, and Ukraine

Trump: "I have people in Hawaii and they cannot believe what they are finding"

GOP bought this, hook, line, and sinker.

Why does anyone give this guy any credence anymore? Do people on the right like being mentally raped like this all the time?

U.S. prosecutors said in court on Tuesday that Lev Parnas, an associate of U.S. President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani, received a $1 million payment from a lawyer for Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash.

I'd heard that a couple of days ago in connection with Parnas' bail. Funny how money flowing into Hunter Biden's pockets is bad but all this funny money and shell companies surrounding these guys

Of course he did. Why have anyone with stature represent the US in Ukraine we we can have no one, or a Russian lackey?

I’m guessing Taylor had some things to say up the State Dept chain of command about Rudy’s recent trip and this is Pompeo’s response.

Pompeo didn’t want to be seen with Taylor.

Sad. Meanwhile Giuliani is continuing to work closely with Russian backed associates and no one is stopping him

Trump is helping Russia so much they should pay him (if the Kremlin isn’t already). He’s damaged U.S. standing in the world, shaken trust among allies, including Ukraine, and promoted corruption instead of democratic values.

Do we start a new Rudy thread for Venezuela or just extend this one?

Giuliani, Parnas, shadow foreign policy, wealthy-business executive linked to money-laundering through Miami real estate sales...sound familiar?

Parnas really really REALLY wants to share all his SDNY evidence with the House Intel Committee.

Democratic values? I thought all you liberals are live and let live? You know, drop pallets of cash on the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world (Iran & Hezbollah) and look the other way when they slowly hang gays from cranes. You sure have selective democratic values.

Returning their money in exchange for being able to properly monitor their nuclear program. Let's be accurate here.

A passage from Fiona Hill's deposition transcript:

... My jaw dropped when I saw the indictments of these two gentlemen, of Fruman and Parnas. So it becomes clear that they were certainly up to no good. But that was what I was already hearing.

"And I was also told by Amos [Hochstein, former U.S. Energy Envoy to Ukraine] and other colleagues that they had some linkages, so I also want to, you know, get you to step back at this period. This is, you know, March, April, into May, where we were having a standoff over Venezuela. And the Russians at this particular juncture were signaling very strongly that they wanted to somehow make some very strange swap arrangement between Venezuela and Ukraine.

In other words, if we were going to exert some semblance of the Monroe Doctrine of, you know, Russia keeping out of our backyard, because this is after the Russians had sent in these hundred operatives essentially to, you know, basically secure the Venezuelan Government and, you know, to preempt what they were obviously taking to be some kind of U.S. military action, they were basically signaling: You know, you have your Monroe doctrine. You want us out of your backyard. Well, you know, we have our own version of this. You're in our backyard in Ukraine. And we were getting that sent to us, you know, kind of informally through channels. It was in the Russian press, various commentators.

And I was asked to go out to Russia in this time frame to basically tell the Russians to knock this off. I was given a special assignment by the National Security Council with the agreement with the State Department to get the Russians to back off.

So, in the course of my discussions with my colleagues [names redacted], I also found out that there were Ukrainian energy interests that had been in the mix in Venezuelan energy sectors as well as the names again of Mr. Parnas and Mr. Fruman, and this gentleman Harry Sargeant came up. And my colleagues [names redacted] said these guys were notorious in Florida and that they were bad news.

Q. And you understood that they were working with Rudy Giuliani at that point?

A. I did at this point.
