Yes! Especially since most girls have after school commitments inside and outside school. I'm a SR mom and other SR parents I know say that their kid is already experiencing burnout. Not to mention how much of a hassle it is if you miss a class.

I don’t understand why they have so much HW. They are in class for 80 minutes and should be able to get a lot of work done in that time unless teachers are just using it to double up lectures. What PD does the faculty get for teaching in 80 minute blocks every other day?

I can understand reading, annotating and studying for HW. But in the age of AI teachers need to have students do most of their writing in class.

Hi Gators! Just a reminder that if your 2029 daughter is running for elections she cannot campaign. There have been multiple instances of underground campaigning going on (especially on their snapchat group chat with the majority of the grade on it). It is not fair to those following the rules.

Think about it this way. If your DD needs to break rules to have a chance at winning maybe this isn't for her. All the right person needs to win is a good speech.

I thought it'd be best to put this here instead of blowing it up with those in charge of elections.

Thanks!

I think once a few parents' kids graduate the reputation will get better. 2025 had a few notorious mean moms, not sure about 2027, and 2028 def has a few...

Why so much gossiping??!

because it's Stone Ridge - what did you expect?

did you mean to say bringing it up?
in any event, why in the world would you post this here? if election cheating is going on, and if you care, which obviously you do, why work through an anonymous forum that is filled with trolls and you have no idea who is reading?

DD went on a shadow visit and was ignored by her shadow host and entire lunch table. Such a disappointing experience.

I do hope SR administration has been following this thread and takes some steps to improve the culture problem there. Our daughter's experience has been less than ideal socially, but she is getting a solid education.

No I did mean blowing. I am also new to this and didn't think there would be trolls. It was recommended, sorry.

I’m sorry this happened. It seems shadow host can be hit or miss. I would let admissions know ASAP!

I can't understand a word you're saying.

If you can't understand this I am concerned heavily for your reading comprehension as this shouldn't be to hard to read. Kumon and Varsity tutors are great options to improve this area.

No, it is not hit or miss. Daughter had great experiences shadowing at other schools like NCS and Madeira. Nice, inclusive, helpful.

Friends at SR and at different schools have had some very abnormally mean experiences with one or two 2028 parents. I can not imagine being in a grade with them. The parent group apparently extends outside of SR and has same issues at other schools/communities. Anytime parents are behaving badly it does not set a good example.
