BOE - who are people voting for?

The only candidate that has actual experience of investigating corruption and fraud is Candidate Sharif Hidayat. He is a retired Montgomery County Police Officer. I read his profile and apparently he was very successful with investigating financial crimes and brought accountability and justice to his victims.

I finalized my district 4 vote. I officially crossed out Laura Stewart, Mandel was never an option, so by default that leaves Shebra Evans. I wasn’t planning on voting for an incumbent. I’ve been looking forward to voting them out, but not many good choices for district 4.

He was a community service officer. He went to neighborhood picnics and showed up for minor neighborhood disputes, like noise complains and complaints about trees. He wasn't on an investigative unit.

He knows nothing about education.

He is Moms4Liberty

No absolutely not.

Who in their right mind votes for the guy who literally has zero qualifications to sit on a school board?

I'd prefer a candidate who could focus on improving educational outcomes for all students and not focus exclusively on the bottom 5%.

Me too, except I crossed out Evans (failed incumbent) and Mandel (RWNJ), leaving Stewart as my top pick which is what the Apple Ballot said to do anyway.

Also remember you don't have to cast a vote for every office. You can just leave it blank if you don't find any suitable candidate worth your vote.

I’m the quoted pp and I I don’t do what the Apple ballot tells me to do. I think they’ve led people astray too long. I used to vote the straight Apple ballot without giving it a second thought. I think a lot of their endorsed candidates have ended up being part of the reason why the school system is in the shape in. It’s steadily declining. This is why I’m not relying on the Apple ballot anymore. If I happen to have a candidate who is on the ballot then that’s fine.

The other candidate I locked in is Hidayat. I don’t know who I’m voting for in district 2.

How is that stolen valor? He either was or was not a police officer. And anybody discounting showing up for “minor disputes”, doesn’t know, or understand how dangerous and life-threatening these can turn.

+1. No way I'm voting for Evans or Mandel.

How did he investigate financial crimes and bring accountability?

Exact same line of thinking for me too. And I was looking for any excuse to oust all incumbents, but I was a definite NO on Mandel, and I've never cared for Stewart's SJW posturing/activism and am not looking for that on the school board.
