Oof. I despise her but she usually looks good. This outfit is supremely unflattering though.

As a woman in her 50s myself, I diagnose this as, she's gone up a size (or two) but won't shop accordingly. Can't explain the pattern, though.

Without getting political, Melania wearing a coat indoors was literally the only normal thing about that rally. She was famous here for wearing coats indoors.

This man needs a Spanx body suit. I do not need to see his misshapen torso jiggling everywhere as he skips around.

She looks the same to me.

Her profile has definitely changed.

2024:

2020:

Nose job and chin extension?

What is IN that CHIN? Classified documents? Thumb drive?

It's just buccal fat removal.

It's not just that. It's a new chin implant too.

She chose the Jay Leno model for reasons unknown.

Is Vanky susposed to be an insult? Are you 12? What is your nam

Tell me you are new here without telling me you are new here.

I hate her but I hate this dumb nickname more.

I call her Li’l Ivana, for two reasons, one, that’s what “Ivanka” means and two, she ended up having to take her mother’s place.

I think she’s past that now. I think this is more likely her putting on a bullet proof vest and the coat wasn’t fit for it appropriately. I agree with PPs that the pattern is not good for this event — I thought the same about Michelle O’s tortoise shell print suit at the rally in Michigan. I would think that their stylists main job is to think about stuff like this — small prints don’t show well in camera when you are dealing with a busy background and cameras a significant distance away. Just wear solids in strong colors, ideally not the same color as the backdrop and never green (because then the internet will just green screen in something weird).

I want to talk about Melania's hair. I think the placement of the chunky blonde highlights is unflattering. I wasn't sure it was her until she started talking.

It looked like she was attempting the British royal family coat dress look, but to me it just looked like an actual coat, worn indoors. Or with the spikey high heels maybe a stripper with a coat over the provocative outfit. The pattern was wrong for being on camera.

The heels made it more stripper-y, along with it just not fitting.

The coat was one that her stylist Herve Pierre said he bought at the Michael Kors Madison Avenue store a few years ago. Speculating that the company will get calls from shoppers looking to buy the style, Pierre said, “It was a few seasons ago and there was only one.”

So they're saying they thought it would stand out.

As for the zebra-printed coat, “We thought the graphic black and white pattern would look good with an ocean of blue, white and red,” Pierre said, adding that Trump’s color palette is often black and white.

She should fire that stylist, and her hairdresser while she's at it. And whoever is doing her makeup for public events. She is a beautiful woman and they've made her look stocky, frumpy, and mannish. She's a lot of terrible things but doesn't have to look bad.
