I’m not sure what you are taking about. Do you have evidence for your claims? |
Yeah, once you pay me a research salary I'll do your googling for you. Like I said, of you pay attention to road safety you'd have seen plenty of reports of excessive speeding with speed camera citations for evidence. |
So to confirm, your claim that people are regularly going 60 MPH on DC roads is something that you just made up because you think it’s true but have no evidence that it’s true. |
Here’s some econometrics in case a legion of American historians can’t convince you: https://www.jstor.org/stable/25098858 The Quarterly Journal of Economics is, uh, not particularly easy to publish in. |

You made a very specific claim that ring roads “devastated” CBDs. I pointed out that there is a ring road in Amsterdam, which I thought was the gold standard for urbanism. So in response you google up some academic paper equivalent of a non sequiter. You clearly don’t have an idea what you’re talking about. |
Ok troll |
Interesting response to being challenged when making up facts. You’re entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts. |
You're just hitting all the DCUM top 10 troll responses. Pretty funny. |
| They removed the reversible lane on Connecticut Ave. That's a big safety improvement. |
Public transit reduces the circulation of people in a city? Huh. |
I guess you spend all your time on your cul-de-sac in Virginia. Those of us who actually live in DC see cars going down arterials at high rates of speed *all the time.* I see some dodo going 60 at least once every few weeks. And it is very common to see people going 20-25 over the limit - so 45-50 MPH - on thoroughfares like H St NE. |
Why don’t you tell us precisely where on Georgia or 16th or any of these other streets people are going 60 mph? Which blocks, exactly? Because it’s fairly clear to the rest of us that you’re just making things up |
Very good logic. If someone doesn't quote a specific block then it can't be true. It's not like a general arterial has issues all up and down it. Troll score: 2/10. Needs more work. |
