Located in DC NE... any good recommendation?

Bought a flipped house and let's just say he did a lot of whacky things that we missed and need fixing.

Yi Chang. He is on Yelp. I worried about the all good reviews but he is excellent.

OP, I'd be careful about this rec. I looked on Yelp and he has a TON of reviews (suspicious) and the vast majority are by accounts with only a handful of reviews written (very suspicious). He may be a fine electrician, but I'd wager that most of his Yelp reviews are fake.

We use chandlers out of Virginia. They always fixed it.
Small local company we found after being scammed twice

Quentin Peters. He is a master electrician from La Plata. Since he is a Fed, he keeps his license current. He also works in the district on the second shift and does jobs before he goes to work.

You can call GPO, (202) 512-1800 and ask for the electrical shop.

There was another thread about Yi on dcurbanmom:
http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/545290.page

I posted on that thread and also left a five star review on Yelp.

I was kind of skeptical about all of the five star reviews as well.

But I was generally pretty happy with his service and would have no issues in recommending him to others. I don't know if I'd consider him superb but left a five star review just so I didn't mess up his average. (I have no complaints but generally try to save my five star reviews)

I was going to leave a review anyways but he did ask for me to write a review on Yelp before I had a chance too. Which might be a reason why he has so many reviews.

As mentioned in other reviews some of the things that I appreciated about Yi was his responsiveness and how you can communicate by email and text with him. I don't have access to a phone during the work day and I was originally trying to contact a company that I found through Yelp that was close by to my home and had decent reviews. But that person had an answering service and there was no way to go around it. So we kept playing phone tag, where when I had a chance I'd go out to make a call to the company and leave my info. Later get a call back from them but had to go back out to call them and got the answering service again. They didn't reply back to email over Angie's List. So I was going to use Yelp to try to contact them when Yi's company popped up.

I was also dealing with two other contractors at the time that was semi frustrating. So the process with Yi was that much better with how easy and straightforward it was.

So I can say that at least one of those five star reviews on Yelp are real.

^^in my previous post I meant to say that I was originally trying to contact another company I found through Angie's List. Couldn't reach them by phone or Angie's List, so then tried to contact them through Yelp where Yi's company popped up as one of the companies close by.

Angie's List changed and is now a scam referral site where they pat to be referred and hassle you if you don't use them.
Chandler's is good. So is Becker Electric.
