Hearing back door SY for 25.

All teams play up... Trapped players can play whereever at that point. Done Deal.

No mandate violated.

PreECNLers may struggle if their nonPreECNL competition doesn't change.

Most pre-ecnl teams I know already play up in their non-pre-ECNL league.

He said US Club would be sending out additional information. Did not say anything specific. He received that email yesterday morning and later on the day CST posted we would know today.

My guess is we will get information from Us club by end of the week what their plan is.

US Club may advise all their teams to start early and play “up” to not go against the mandate.

Highly unlikely that this could be an immediate solution for the older ages as it won’t work for competitive teams that advance to playoffs. Clubs are not going to jeopardize these standings in a transition year.

No one cares, it's a friendly. Play whoever you want.

Here is RAE “lived” definition.
Girl. Late birthday. Small and light side.
Very skilled technically and fast. 1000 juggles by age 12 easy just as example.
Played Ulittles and didn’t play much due to a few big strong girls (now on nationally ranked ECNL team) who could score 10 goals a game.
U9-U11, horrible coach who kept telling her how small and weak she was. At that age she got 15 minutes per game. One game she scored 3 of their 4 goals in 15 minutes. Still was only in for 15 minutes.
U12-U13: moved to smaller club, played up. Coach was awesome but left. New large and old player took her preferred position so she had to play new positions. Team fell apart.
Now: awesome skilled player. Still not through puberty but average height. Plays full games but on 2nd team and probably will never make first. Why?
A lot less confidence due to so little playing time in formative years; a bit less swagger; no good tactical training other than her own studying; mediocre teams and coaching in earlier years; plays great but kickball game doesn’t show her strengths.
If she had been 9 months older at age 6, I will guarantee she would be a top team player now.
THAT is RAE.

Exactly...I have no problem with it. Except I want my kids playing 7v7 and 9v9 as long as possible. I already thought they move to 11 v 11 too early.

This is dumb. And not a solution for ECNL teams at all.

Exactly -- that is why there will be no change at all this year.

Is it dumb because a repeater is going to take your kids spot?

This is true but can go both ways, do you risk upsetting the players and families that will eventually be your team going forward for one year of "success".

If the change will happen for Fall 26 how is starting early not a viable option for clubs?
Also ECNL can use the U18 age group.
