I have an interview next week at the state dept (contractor) and have a beautiful deep chocolate skirt suit but am having trouble finding shoes to match. I have this pair of booties that look similar to high-vamp pumps, except they have a zipper on the side: http://www.peltzshoes.com/Womens/BORN/ANKLE-BOOTS/ANKLE-BOOTS/D09916/
Ok for interview or do I need to scramble this weekend to find pumps? Thanks! |
| You need to scramble to find pumps. Cute shoes but not for an interview with a skirt suit. |
|
Too casual, and not really suited for this weather.
Go out and buy a pair of pumps. Not brown. Look for something navy, nude, or burgundy. |
| For an interview at State, def need pumps. |
| Definitely not. Not weather appropriate or interview appropriate with a skirt. |
| Get a pair of nude pumps. Never out of style and go with everything! |
| Pumps. No question |
|
OP here, thank you all for the quick response. In the past these have worked since the suit has matching pants and the shoes were pretty much covered up.
Any pump recs out there? Just thought I'd ask....

| I'm no fashionista or etiquette queen, but it is obvious even to me that the shoes are inappropriate. They will not look professional with a skirt, and they will look out of place in 90-degree weather. |
Corso Como Del. Comes in several colors and should be available at the Nordstrom closest to you. Use the store-finder feature. http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/corso-como-del-pump-women/3186670?origin=category-personalizedsort&fashioncolor=BEIGE%20PATENT |
+1 Cole Haan makes good pumps or wedges, which are also appropriate. |
| omg..no. definitely definitely not okay. can you show us the suit you're wearing too? i feel like we might need to get you something else on top. |

Suit looks like this but deep brown - fits like a glove and is a good color for me (I"m a redhead):
