Indoor climbing thing for older kids?

Anonymous
My sensory seeking, hyperactive elementary schooler is constantly climbing, trying to scale the walls. Right now I can redirect her outside and we can go to the playground, but I'm worried about the winter months. Has anyone discovered a good item for climbing that would fit in the basement but be challenging for an older kid?

OMG, get a mini trampoline. Target sells them; they can hold the weight of an adult.

We have one. While jumping is fine, it's climbing that she really wants.

We have a mini trampoline and Also an indoor swing. My 10 year old just climbs the walls, literally. I think it's hard to do an indoor climbing thing, given you probably don't have high enough ceilings. I have a friend that has an indoor trapeze bar (from ikea). I think I've seen people install climbing wall type things on the walls of their basements (basically you can just screw random 2x4s into the wall studs, if you do t right), but I'm not sure how much use you'd get out of them, really.

Also recommend signing her up for a winter agility, climbing or parkour class.

Literally you need to make sure you have enough cushioning underneath and that climbers or swings are securely attached.

I agree with PP try a class at an indoor gym.

Climbing may be want she wants but it's just not practical.

We do classes an an indoor gym, but she's still literally climbing the walls (like the pp). For the sake of my walls, I was hoping there was something that would work, but maybe not.

There's a place in Rockville for climbing. You also might like some of the parkour or tumbling classes int eh area. Damon Gymnastics had something like this.

Okay, I'm going to suggest this, but it's damn pricey:

Definitely get fall absorbing flooring underneath.

Indoor rock climbing gyms do kids nights.

We have a ceiling mount for a swing already, and we recently put a rope ladder on it. Ours is a simple rope ladder for now, but I am thinking of upgrading to Fun and Function's Rope Tower Ladder.

We have swings, trapeze type bar, and monkey bars. I also just allow the wall climbing.
