| Do you let your kids drink soft drinks/soda pop? If so, starting at what age? If it were totally up to me, I would never let my kids have them, but sometimes we go to restaurants and that's all they serve. |
| Then bring your own bottled water. |
| Exactly why would any intelligent parent give their child garbage to consume? |
| Enough with the policies! |
|
Pretty sure all restaurants have water
My 7 year old hated fizzy drinks until he asked to try some of my limonata this summer. As long as it's not an everyday thing, I don't think it's a problem. |
| One small soda a month and only if we go out to eat. If we go out more than once a month, she can have water, milk, juice, or lemonade. |
YES. A policy for dessert, a policy for soft drinks, policy for this and that. Do parents have all of their policies written down somewhere for easy reference? Is it like Special Agent Gibbs' rules? (NCIS fans will know what I mean) |

Ohhhh...
Does anyone have a policy for dessert and soft drinks in the same day or *gasp* at the same meal? |
| An occasional treat, beginning at age 8. |
| They have had Sprite a couple of times before (5&7). I guess my policy is no soda except for the super rare times I say yes. If we are at a restaurant they will have milk, lemonade or water. |
| We don't allow them. At restaurants, we will do water, diluted juice, iced tea, or lemonade. |
| Um, order WATER. |
| None until 10. |
We usually say he can have soda OR dessert. 7 yo. He will almost always choose dessert and get lemonade or idea tea or water. We eat dessert most nights at home and are not candy-shy. His dad and I drink soda but we don't let DC have a lot of it and it's very rare he gets soda at home. |
| What restaurant only offers soda? I've certainly never been to a place like that. |
