ECNL moving to school year not calendar

I'm 100% for BY

But my g2010 "trapped" player (that starts) will likely get 3 years of prime age visability to scouts if 2026 changes to SY. Last night her team scrimmaged the 2011s and she was just making them look stupid.

I have another g2016 with a July 2nd birthday and she's going to gave a hard time no matter what. So we're putting the work in and I'm helping her however I can to get better.

Again I think BY is the way to go but if my oldest is forced to take someone else's spot on a 2011 team so be it.

Unfortunately, it's the typical reaction to a system where ultra competitive clubs and leagues look for every advantage, large or small, so it's no surprise that parents would do the same and it's very soccer parent to do that to the nth degree. What is interesting is figuring out what the advantage is. What parents need to understand is that what's in the best interest of the club may not align with the best interest of their kid and a lot of what's said here is more from the perspective of ultra competitive club.
Misplaced anger here from parents losing an advantage for their kids. Parents gaining an advantage for their kids don't create the rules.

Pure jealousy couched as unfair outrage.

What advantage?
If you are new to the discussion here it would be tough to get you up to speed if you are starting on page 386.

I see perceived and imagined advantages and disadvantages

Nothing that's real or substantial
Not to be rude but I see real science and ignore fake gut feelings from self proclaimed experts.

Not to be rude but 99% chance that you're a ulittle parent.

After u14 all your "logic" no longer matters. Either you have talent or you don't

It still matters alot. I'm sorry you can't see it.

No matter the age cutoff, your kid is an individual and assessed as such.

If she has mediocre technical skills and iq at BY then she takes that into SY

Same is true for clubs.

When has a club ever been scouted or recruited?

Every parent assesses and scouts what clubs and teams to join to find the best spot for their kid.

The way it should work is your kid helps the younger players get better and be more of a leader than now. If anyone losses a spot, it should be people going to an even younger team. BUT looking at that way would ruin all the fun for the posters here.

When we scrimmage the B team a year up, our A teams often tie or lose (and that’s one of the top teams in the state). The top players on the B team would be the top players on the A team a year below (whether or not they are late birthdays. I don’t know).

I do. Because nothing is decided. What is likely to be decided is nothing changes until 26/27. But no guarantee that anything changes then either.

No. They posted a Dan from someone who said something. They were upfront as to what it was.

Your still holding out that nothing changes in 26

I do not care either way. But words matter. This will be revisited for 26/27. No decision for 26/27 was actually made.

That's not what the memo says....

What does the real science tell you about RAE after puberty?

Also, how is RAE eliminated when all is being done is shuffling Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4, not eliminating late bloomers?

Your kid playing down against weaker physical opponents is an illusion of high level performance. Sooner or later that bill comes due.

The A team ain't that top to begin with.
Or they could beat the B team one year up.
