I am at my breaking point and need to get away from my husband and children for 3 to 5 days - any

suggestions of where to go?

I am not a country person and usually love urban settings; but right now what I NEED is to go to some QUIET place, maybe a cute bed&breakfast, in a quiet place (no children allowed), with a nice porch and rocking chairs where I can see the stairs, hear nothing and read books.

It doesn't need to have cable or wi-fi.

Not obscenely expensive but it doesn't need to bee cheap either.

A driving distance from NoVA is preferred.

I am NOT interested in hiking or water sports or anything like that. I just want to be alone and quiet for a few days.

I will be going in Sept.

Thanks!

Check out Air BNB and just pick somewhere beautiful. It doesn't sound like you'll be doing many activities. I recommend booking at least one massage as well.

Cabin in the Shenandoah? You don't have to hike, but it will get you away from the hustle and bustle of DC, and probably won't have a cell signal (or a very weak one).

OP here. I would rather not have to cook honestly, or clean after myself…. that is why I would prefer some quaint B&B over AirBnb.

For no cooking or cleaning and variety of food options, get a city hotel room. Get a room that will be quieter (not by elevator or getting lots of traffic noise) and walk to nearby restaurants or get delivery or room service.

Go someplace real, not Nova!
