suggestions of where to go?
I am not a country person and usually love urban settings; but right now what I NEED is to go to some QUIET place, maybe a cute bed&breakfast, in a quiet place (no children allowed), with a nice porch and rocking chairs where I can see the stairs, hear nothing and read books. It doesn't need to have cable or wi-fi. Not obscenely expensive but it doesn't need to bee cheap either. A driving distance from NoVA is preferred. I am NOT interested in hiking or water sports or anything like that. I just want to be alone and quiet for a few days. I will be going in Sept. Thanks! |
| Check out Air BNB and just pick somewhere beautiful. It doesn't sound like you'll be doing many activities. I recommend booking at least one massage as well. |
| Cabin in the Shenandoah? You don't have to hike, but it will get you away from the hustle and bustle of DC, and probably won't have a cell signal (or a very weak one). |
+1 Lydia Mountain Lodge |
| OP here. I would rather not have to cook honestly, or clean after myself…. that is why I would prefer some quaint B&B over AirBnb. |
| For no cooking or cleaning and variety of food options, get a city hotel room. Get a room that will be quieter (not by elevator or getting lots of traffic noise) and walk to nearby restaurants or get delivery or room service. |
| Sheperdstown, WV |
| Eastern Shore, which will be lovely in Sept. |
| St. Michaels? |

Omni Bedford Springs
Indoor warm spring fed pool plus a wonderful spa |

Lots of nice options here, OP:

| St. Michaels is nice. Also, Harper's Ferry. |
| Woodloch |

Chincoteague
Cute town, nice B&Bs, go to the beach. |

Omg, just go to the Bahamas already...
London? Paris? Fiji? Go someplace real, not Nova! |
