Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.
Manor House b&b is nice and has yummy breakfasts. If you reserve at a bed and breakfast, ask about kids upfront. There have never been any there when we have gone, but you never know.

I checked myself into a hotel downtown that had an outdoor pool. It was perfect!

Affordable, cute b&bs. You can walk to all the restaurants. Take a book, go sit by the canal and chill.

London? Paris? Fiji?
Go someplace real, not Nova!

I don't want to go anywhere to explore anything besides a restaurant maybe. I really just want to sit on a porch with a glass of wine and do NOTHING besides reading/thinking.

Thanks everyone, I will check these places suggested. A friend suggested Hillbrook Inn in Charles Town - has anyone heard of it/gone?

There was an article in the post last week about an inn in Pennsylvania. It could be the perfect respite for you.

Yes, and it's lovely, but it's very much a place for couples to celebrate anniversaries and big events. I honestly could not imagine going there alone.
