How much did you pay for your child's braces?

Our co-pay is $2,800. I'm wondering if this is good, bad or average.

There is just a thread from this about two weeks ago. Your personal obligation is great. You are lucky to have good insurance.

Good. We have insurance but there is a cap of 2500 lifetime so we are paying about 3500 after insurance.

that is about as good as it gets.

Braces cost a lot. The price reflects the work that needs to be done. Bite correction is well north of $5k. Simple straightening will be less than that. My child's work was close to $10k and extensive.

I've got a quote for $8000.

$6,100 Invisalign. The quote for metal was $5400. My son is doing the Invisalign.

That's good. My insurance covers maximum $1,000 lifetime. Everything else is out of pocket.

$5000 no insurance. Standard braces top and bottom plus retainer, nothing fancy.

4000. Regular braces, and 2 of my friend's kids with different issues also 4000.

this is us. I started the other thread (or one of them). I was surprised that the invisilign were actually less expensive than the metal with ceramic brackets.

Just got a quote for an expander and we will pay $1780 out of pocket after insurance. Insurance will cover $2000. He'll need braces in middle school and that's another $4400 minus whatever insurance will pay at that time.

Our insurance is paying $2500 for braces and we are paying $2700

Wow! What kind of insurance do you people have? My lifetime coverage is $1000. I pick up the rest of the 8or 9K braces cost.

Our insurance is paying $2,000 of the $5,800.

I would suggest that you find an orthodontist a little further out of price areas, so if you are in Bethesda go to Gaithersburg, if you are in Mclean go to Reston or further out. You might be saving thousands on braces. I did.
