I had a proposal that I pitched to my teen where I would volunteer to go in and tell the people sitting in stalls "Look, I'm not your mom -- I don't care if you ditch class or vape or whatever. Can you please leave the school and do it in the woods outback, like the kids had the decency to do back in my day? Let someone change their tampon in here, please." She was not a fan of this plan. But I think we we need like a "ditch school OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL (not in the bathrooms)" movement. Can we get THAT going on TikTok? I feel like we shouldn't have to teach kids this stuff.

Also the lines can be 15 minutes long.

This drives me nuts about the make-up policy. My kid was out with COVID, and missed some tests and labs. All the teachers want the kids to make this up during lunch, so that meant several days in a row without any lunch break, which also really means no bathroom break. If you had a boss that made you go all day without going to the bathroom, you'd be filing an OSHA complaint.

Yes, thank you!! I don’t care what these other kids do. Just clear out the bathrooms so they are available for students who actually need to use the bathroom.

Whether they’re just talking or doing more, schools needs to give one warning and then suspend them for this. And who raised these jerks? Make the parents come in for a conference. Hideous behavior leading to hundreds of kids who fear actually hydrating at school now.

Are you new to MCPS? This suggestion would be inequitable and not compatible with Restorative Justice ideals.

Also the parents are often unavailable to come in for a conference. Good luck getting a hold of them.

Will/does Woodward HS have a large enough cafeteria for ALL its students? Some will not ever go to the cafeteria in HS, but donthey have capacity in the new building?

You're assuming that the kids want a cafeteria that would accommodate 2000+ people. The way to manage this would be multiple lunch times, but schools don't do this because having a single lunch time allows for students to meet with teachers/staff and also for clubs to meet.

They said bathrooms are not going to be locked. But it could be different policy at each MS and HS
