Is this once again MCPS' plan?? They have had so much time to figure out a viable solution. Can't believe this is the great US of A.

Kids are fighting and doing drugs in the bathroom. I don’t blame the school for this. Short of having a security guard posted at every bathroom, what do you propose?

I don't understand why they don't put security guards outside bathrooms. I know money is always an issue, but kids need to use the bathroom. Come up with money, hire more security staff, have policy in place for rulebreakers, and train staff appropriately.

Lol

lol. Do you think they are going to hire people to do nothing but stand outside bathrooms all day. Let’s assume that would be 4 people per schools times 25 HS And 70 MS. So 380 people at less say 25k. So almost $10M.

Money well spent.

If you say so. What I know is that any BoE that signs off on spending $10M for that is more than likely going to find themself unelected next term.

LOL

$10M is NOTHING to the BOE and they continually spend that and more in closed sessions and get re-elected.

They waste far more money than $10M and I'd be thrilled as a parent to see them spend $10-40 million for more security and improving safety. I hope all the current BOE members who are up for reelection get voted out. They have run MCPS into the ground and need to be held accountable.
