I accidentally added a zero to an immediate payment, sending $8,000 not $800.
Been trying to fix it for an hour. Every time I get a person (2X) they immediately put me back on hold. I am freaking out and just want to vent. I HATE BOA. |
| Won't it be easier to just walk up into one of their banks and speak to someone there to fix the problem right away? |
| It must be an off day. I've always had excellent service from BOA when I called them. Good luck OP. |
I am watching three kids at home. On my cell I called my local branch and they said they cannot help me, I have to call online support. |
| Well it will either go thru or bounce - problem solved! |
Maybe that would be a problem solved for you, but that is all my money, marked for my upcoming bills like my mortgage, so no, problem NOT solved. |
| I did that once - but I was able to hit the cancel payment button before it started processing. Luckily for me, I had a window of time even though it was an immediate payment. Good luck to you - I hope the service reps come through sooner than later! |
| I thought online banking has a check screen with the amount before it goes through. |
|
OP here, finally got through!
After 1.5 hours of dealing with this, there is NOTHING Bank of America can do. So my checking account is in the red for several thousand for the whole weekend until the transfer bounces back on Monday for lack of funds. Good thing I don't need to take out cash this weekend. |

Can you log in online on a computer and cancel the payment?
I'm able to do that with my BOA online payments/banking. |
No, because it went to my HELOC so it's automatic. |
Oh, dang! How can they not have a cancel payment or alter payment option?! That's so crazy! Did you speak with a supervisor at BOA? I'd try to go higher up the food chain and see if something can be done that way. |
| BoA is awful. |
This. I will never understand why anyone would stay with them. We have had nothing but great service from both USAA and Justice Federal Credit Union. We had an account with BoA for six months. Never again! |
New person. OMG NO. |
