| Would you pay the money to convert your stove from electric to gas? Our stove broke and this is an opportunity to do it. Inside the beltway, would probably sell for high 500,000 (but starter home), selling in the next 2 to 3 years. |
| I would. It won't be too expensive, and you'll enjoy cooking on a gas stove for 2-3 years before you sell. Electric was a deal breaker for me (or if not a dealbreaker, a mental deduction from list price). |
| Our dryer would still be electrical. Still worth it? |
| Electric, not electrical. |
| Yes totally worth it. No need for a gas dryer but gas hot water is also excellent. |

How far is the nearest gas line hook up? End of the block?
If there isn't one near by, you'll need to install a propane tank and get it filled by a delivery truck. That may be your only option. And in that case, I'd stick with electric. Propane tanks are ugly. |
Yes. Buyers are looking for a gas range, but don't give a hoot about electric vs gas dryers. |
| No, but we pulled out our gas stove and put in electric. I have gas stoves. We still have gas heating and a gas furnace. We originally left the line in but the gas company moved our meter outside and redid the gas line and removed the branch. |
You must only cook boxed mac n cheese if you prefer electric over gas. |
| We did this and I have never regretted a second. I hate electric stoves and don't care for induction. And we cook a lot. It cost about $1000 for running the gas line. Dryer is electric. |
| sorry, we have a line (gas water/heat); we need to just run it to the kitchen. Sounds like the answer is yes. Thanks all. |
OP - when you get an estimate, can you post it please? we are thinking the same... just run it to the kitchen. |
We do both - we do full meals to mac and cheese. Ours cooks well and bakes even better. |
It will depend on the access to your house, distance and other factors. It will not be comparable. It could easily be $1000 plus wall repairs as they will have to remove walls to get it through in less you have open access. |
What a stupid comment.
