What hotel to stay at downtown for 1 night?

Anniversary is coming up and DH and I are hiring a nanny to stay over so we can go to a hotel and have sex in peace What's a good one in a central location near restaurants and stuff? Something near Gallery Place maybe? TIA!

Good for you!

I would not recommend the W, unless you upgrade from the basic room. DH and I spent a night there and the room was TINY. The bathroom was like being in an airplane bathroom. Not really conducive to romance.

Fairmont Washington, The Mayflower.

Not sure what your budget is but all the celebs stay at the Ritz or the Four Seasons in Georgetown.

Isn't there a hotel attached to Blue Duck Tavern? Might be a nice twofer.

The Palomar!

The hotel monaco! That's in chinatown. They have free wine at 5PM. I am biased and got married there, though

Yes! That's the Park Hyatt. I haven't stayed in the DC location, but Park Hyatts in general are quite luxurious. They use Le Labo toiletries too.

We love Fairfax at Embassy Row. Small, quiet, romantic.

Not near Gallery Place, but the Hay Adams is gorgeous. My husband and I stayed there for an anniversary night once and it was beautiful and luxurious. It fronts the White House and you could walk to Gallery Place, but it's a bit of a hike.

The Willard is also beautiful and less of a hike, but still not in Gallery Place.
