Was it a specific podcast? Or were they just referencing him over the past year?

it's the most recent episode of their podcast called 'the thought shower'.

What was the reference? I can’t access it for some reason.

I honestly had it on while doing other things, so don't remember verbatim, but here are some random nuggets...

- Shelby indicated she hadn't spoken to Kane since right before the lockdown last year

- John said he 'always planned to reach back out to the girls directly when they were in HS/college to see if they needed anything' (not sure what he meant exactly, but also seemed to suggest he didn't have a speaking relationship with Kane and by extension his daughters)

- Kept emphasizing that 'every thing they did was for the girls'

- John said he had anger towards Kane, but at the end of the day it didn't matter/was pointless given the circumstances

The fight that happened was not just Kane and Erick. It was Kane vs E and IJ.

Kane was missing lots of work and the rule was that when there was no Kane, there was no live show and a rerun played. It started happening more and more and numbers at the station started suffering. Ad time during a rerun doesn’t sell for as much as a live show. Profits suffer. No one likes that.

Erick and some higher ups had a meeting and decided to change things to let IJ talk the helm and run the show when Kane was out. IJ was on board, duh, and a meeting was had with Kane to let him know. He was pissed. Felt like his BFF and protege was trying to take his job. There’s no Kane show without Kane blah blah blow up.

Words were said. Tempers flared. Everyone parted. Kane was notified in writing that it was happening regardless of his feelings on the matter and he blew up again on E and IJ. A physical altercation happened with Kane throwing hands first. He was suspended and then subsequently fired from the show. He was kept on the iHeart payroll because he was still under contract.

Kane was done in radio. At least top 40 radio.

It’s sad and tragic. It’s terrible for his girls and family. He didn’t kill himself, though.

But IJ had been filling in for Kane prior to the pandemic, I thought that had been going on for a while IIRC.

Exactly, IJ hosted the show several times in Kane's absence. This is just fanfiction...

+1 It’s the same PP spinning tales across all the Kane threads.

Nope. The tall tale started out wrong by claiming the fight was about the show creating a new rule that IJ could fill in. IJ already was filing in before COVID and had been for a while. So bad premise but good try!

I don’t think he was running whole shows tho?

I remember it more like him opening the show and then doing the little thing like “here’s a Best of the Kane Show” and that would play. Then he’d do live ad breaks.

But I don’t even remember if Walmart Couture (love that) was also live with him??

IDK. Doing that and running a whole show is totally different. It makes sense.

Walmart Couture is the worst of all the female co-hosts of TKS (Ok maybe tied with Danni). She thinks that it’s still funny or interesting to be always be annoyed or irritated at John or her baby daddy. Like it’s not funny. You’re not cute or sassy; constantly being pretend mad at someone just showcases the fact that you have absolutely NO personality, originality, creativity, or true sense of humor. It STUNS me she’s lasted on an entertainment show because she’s not interesting or funny. Ever.

I used to think this person obsessively posting about Riley and making up weird nicknames was maybe Kane, but obviously it isn’t, maybe just a strange fan of the show? No one cares about these personalities enough to give them nicknames. Strange.

No he ran full shows several times. Both female cohosts and Erick included. Basically how the show is now.

+1 the PP who keeps posting about the fight (and then bumping in agreement) is just trolling.

^ yes, same poster also said Kane was fired for a fight with Erick and that’s why Erick wasn’t on the remembrance show for Kane.. except Erick was on the show, so that was a lie.

Also adding... Kane was a complete germophobe... Highly unlikely any meeting happened in person between him and anyone, he wasn't going to do the show because of Covid anxiety so where exactly did this altercation take place??

His family posted an obituary with requests that donations be made to Active Minds which is a mental health organization. Kane spoke personally spoke of his struggles with mental illness.
