You're an idiot, as is the author of that piece. Yes, if you invent a completely fake budget based on a fake marriage and add in two fake kids at Sidwell Friends and assign it to a public figure, you can attack someone who you hate for other reasons. But it doesn't make you less stupid.

I think in DC it can be comfortable living and you can build some wealth, if you keep your lifestyle MC, buy a cheap house, send kids to public school and not have student debt or childcare cost. You will have to deal with commute and ho-hum schooling then. Helps if one parent can SAH and able to educate kids.
