RHONY Season 10

I think it's this and her "carefree," superficial attitude more than an allegiance to a mean girl club. I don't think Tinsley knew how to react to Bethenny crying in the pool, so she listened to what Bethenny had to say and then walked away. No big deal in her mind.

I'm thinking B doesn't want to return, Andy begs her, they bring on some kind of back-up for her. A Dorit-type, like LVP got.

I'm hoping with all my heart Tinsley is out. She adds nothing. Less than nothing. 2 seasons in and I fast forward any scene that is just her.

I don't actually think she's "dumb," but she's played the part for a long time. That said, she's not intuitive or cunning. She's just blithe. Growing up wealthy, healthy, and pretty enough will do that to a person.

I'm the second PP you're quoting, and I agree with you.

It reminded me of some BS middle school/high school drama where you get caught talking to the one all your friends are being mean to. And you feel kind of bad for said person, but you also know if you are seen talking to her or seeming sympathetic, it will be social suicide.

These women are awful. I'm not saying Bethenny is any walk in the park, but the mean girls are clearly LOVING watching her flail. Especially Ramona. Dorinda and Carole are the head mean girls. Tinsley is just happy to be in the group. And Ramona is the one that no one really likes, but they let her stay in the group to have more numbers.

Agree with all of this.

B is not perfect by any stretch but I was in a high conflict relationship and I feel for her with that restraining order ending. And last season it was Carole telling everyone how nasty Jason was to B so you'd think she'd have more empathy. But, B is a producer so maybe it's being editing to make Carole more of a villain than she is.

All of B's relationships are "high conflict." Who's the common denominator?

I think Carole was really hurt by B's attitude toward Adam, and she can't feel the same way about B now. Not everyone wants their exes to be trashed and burned because the relationship ends. I think B thought she was saying something that Carole would like to hear, like "Let me tak s*** about your ex," but by calling him an "operator," she was lending credence to LuAnn's dig that Adam was never really into Carole and was using her for all those years. Maybe he was, but by B bringing that back into the storyline, and agreeing with Luann, she hurt Carole and I don't blame Carole for not wanting to be BFFs any longer.

Tinsley isn't a mean girl. She's not calculating in that way. She's never had to be. But she definitely is a "surface" person, and she's not comfortable with others' emotions or troubles. That's why she was uncomfortable. She doesn't want to know about your problems, she's too busy being carefree. She's not the one to call when you need to be bailed out at 4 am.

Ramona clearly delights in B being in pain, but she's like that with everyone. Ramona is a terrible person. Always has been.

Carole's blogs are not from a person who doesn't want to be BFFs any longer. They are from a person who is vicious and is completely blowing up a friendship and any future of a friendship. They were over the top and unhinged.

I just went to read the blogs. No, she definitely doesn't want to be friends any longer. But I wouldn't either.

Carole is horrible. And her looks my God why can't she get an orthodontist, she almost looks deformed at times.
How do I read her blog? Would like to know and read how she is throwing Bethanny under the bus.

What’s the deal with skinny girl jeans? Skinny girl just throws its name on anything now, including clothing?

They are supposed to come out in the fall. She had a shape wear line a few years ago. Not sure if it’s still available.

+1 She is hideous, and I don't feel bad saying it because she's so mean and vicious.

I honestly think she has suffered from disordered eating for a long time (remember the egg incident?), and now has false teeth to show for it. Her dentures don't fit her mouth, and she needs to lay off the fillers to stop drawing attention to it.

You know what, though? Bethenny did not make a single overture of friendship or connection with Tinsley. She was pretty stand-offish with her from the get-go. There's no goodwill or trust there, because Bethenny wouldn't give Tinsley the time of day when Tinsley was the one in a vulnerable position.

Bethenny's trying to make withdrawals, but she's invested NOTHING in some of these accounts! Now, can she reasonably expect LuAnn and Sonja and Dorinda to somewhat be compassionate and kind to her, even when they're not on the best of terms? Yes. Because there's been SOME give there, and not just take. Tinsley's looking at Bethenny like she's a stranger in the pool, crying because...she's a stranger in the pool, crying.

I am the one you are responding to. I think this is a very fair point. However, in that very human moment Tinsley could have either take the moment to connect or not. And she chose not to, to me very obviously out of loyalty to the mean girl club.

I actually have more respect for Carole just icing B out completely. Dorinda plays both sides. Pretends to be her friend and then blows her up behind her back.

I see your point, but from where I sit, even Bethenny's "very human" moments are extraordinarily calculated. Why do I think that? Because she uses her tears. She films herself walking through her old apartment that she shared with Jason--that wasn't on RHONY cameras, that was on her own, personal camera, and she shared it with the world. Ditto when her dog, Cookie, died. Those weren't RHONY cameras rolling, that was her deliberately making a public movie of herself sobbing after her dog's death. It's so narcissistic and calculated and gross. At least peeing on a stick for her pregnancy with Bryn was a RHONY camera, like a legitimate part of the show.

So Bethenny sobbing does not necessarily a human moment make, and I think Tinsley knows and feels that. That being said, it would have been a better move *for the show* for Tinsley to throw Bethenny a bone in that moment, and a smarter cast member probably would have done so. At least Dorinda seems to know what time it is, and how much the audience actually wants of drama vs. reconciliation.

I agree pp. B is the queen of manipulation and milking the show for everything she can get out of it. It's kind of funny that Carole/Tinsley etc are being referred to as the mean girls. B has always taken that title. She has had the reputation of being horrible to people she is close to. She's horrible to the people she views as her lessers. She started making digs at Carole in previous seasons. They were digs that were so nasty I would never tolerate that in a friend. I think she does it to establish dominance in relationsips. We've seen her go through this with everyone she is in a relationship with that appears on one of these shows. She attacks each person so aggressively and out of the blue that they are thrown off balance and are baffled at how to respond. There have been a few times that the recipient deserved it but most times B is hunting for slights so she can rage/establish dominance. Everything we see is calculated. She is so broken that she can not manage a meaningful relationship with another person.

She is the queen of milking the show for everything she can get out of it. She's incredibly open about that. It's the only reason she went on the show and probably the only reason she stays on the show. I'm sure that's the case for plenty of the Housewives. You think Lisa Vanderpump is on her show because she really enjoys the girl bonding? I don't understand that as a criticism.

She does appear to have some very long-term friends. One in particular has appeared very sporadically on her various Bravo shows throughout the years. Don't know her name but I bet some superfan can come up with it. Kyle Richards to name another. She appears to mostly have trouble getting along with the unstable and conflict-seeking personalities who are purposefully cast as Real Housewives. Because if it was a show where the women were normal humans who got along with their friends all the time, there would be no show.

The long-term friend lives in Florida and Kyle, obviously, lives in California. Bethenny may be good at long-distance friendships with people she sees once in a while, but not good with friendships with those who live in the same city.

+1. Bethenny's only close friends actually in Manhattan and the surrounding area, in her day-to-day life, seem to be...her paid staff.

NP here. FWIW, I don't think it's bad that she leverages the show for success and fame, it's just that she doesn't seem to know when or how to draw the line. She will burn any bridge or cut down to any depth to make good television. She's good at being on TV, she's just a shitty friend.
