I seem to remember we have a name for something that’s worse than a recession.

They must be very proud:

Dow drops 1,200 points, S&P 500 loses 3% as stock market rout on Trump's tariffs worsens

3%? If only. Ended up closer to 5%. It was a historically bad day on par with the beginning of COVID.

Yeah. That was midday. It’ll probably be worse tomorrow.

But on the bright side - the financial collapse isn’t stopping Trump from leaving to play golf.

Market down another 3% today in the Chinese retaliation. Will get another hit when EU retaliates. Trump is a total disaster.

Maybe not right now, but eventually people will see right in front of their faces that the numbers don’t add up.

But the propaganda machine will keep telling them that the alternative is worse, and many of them will believe it. We are seeing the effects of a decades long operation to convince Americans that the democrats — even the most benign, milquestost moderates — are “worse” than every possible alternative. A full third of our country now believe that a guy like Chris Murphy or is somehow “worse” than the masterminds of 9/11, and people who hack journalists to pieces with bone saws, and imperialist dictators who literally poison enemies or throw them out windows.

Doesn’t matter what happens, there is nothing and no one that they won’t keep claiming is “worse.”

40 percent of Biden’s time in office was vacation. Trump’s focus on middle class is refreshing. Finally manufacturing coming back to USA. He is also tackling the hard things that no other politician from either party was willing to do. Everyone should have a look at how unfair our trade arrangements have been. He is also cutting so much waste and getting rid of fraud. I look at temp stock drops as the price to pay short term for getting country on better path.

S&P 500 is close to losing an entire years worth of gains.
