Hulk hogan? He’s not a violent character at all. What a mess.

National Federation of Republican Women speaker sounds like she downed a couple dozen deviled eggs just before taking stage.

I’m so disappointed in the folks making nasty comments here. We don’t agree with what the R politicians are advocating for and we are going to defeat in the elections.

After all that is over they are still Americans just like us. They have families and love their country. We need to take a step back and reunite on common ground.

Honestly, I quibble with this. I don’t think they do. I’m not going to dehumanize them, but they do want to uninstall democracy and install something on the theocracy-oligarchy-fascism spectrum of bad government. You and I have not left the common ground that we all agreed on; they have. I’m not helping move the Overton Window any further.

I'm 10:17 and I agree with you, although they THINK they love this country. But they clearly don't understand how it is supposed to work. They have been so conditioned to fear the boogeymen the GOP keep screaming about, they have come to believe that the authoritarian way will save them. This kind of thing just keeps happening over and over and over in human history.

PP, I probably could be your neighbor. I’ve been educated at a top all women’s college and attended a top 20 law school. I don’t own a gun and have no desire to do so. I live in a liberal suburb of DC and have raised successful children who attend/attended colleges that most DCUM posters dream for their kids and are who are young enough to still vote democrat, though growing disillusioned with them. For the first 20 years of my adult life I was a single issue pro choice voter. After that period ended I still voted D for another period of time, including for Hillary in the primary. I’m now pretty much a Republican though I wouldn’t call myself MAGA but you probably would since I’ll be voting for Trump. Since I generally don’t talk politics and am pretty easygoing, if you and I met over coffee you’d probably think I was a good person and might even be friends. The majority of my friends, afterall, are Democrats. And yes, they know I’m voting for Trump. I’ve not been conditioned to fear a boogeyman and I clearly understand how this country is supposed to work. The fact that people like you continue to demonize and insult people like me is just really sad.

The fact that you would vote from Trump is sad. I don't care where you were educated. I don't care how many kids you raised. I know other people I would consider intelligent who are Trumpers. Being booksmart doesn't mean you can't be nuts or tricked. If you think Trump and the people he surrounds himself with are fit to govern this country and will do better by you than the Dems, something in you is broken. Either you are gullible/deluded or you are evil (i.e, you know what he is and what he will do and you don't care because you think it will benefit you, everyone else be damned). If I do know you and found out you were voting for him, I'd lose all respect for you. You wouldn't care, because that is how Trumpers roll. They enjoy pissing people off and they really don't care who they bring down with them.

People like you are why people like me will end up voting for Trump.

That is total BS, ludicrous statement. People like me are not in power and have nothing to do with our government, so your post makes absolutely no sense. It is lame attempt at an insult. There is only one reason to vote for Trump...if you are broken inside.

"I have to vote for Trump because some random anonymous person on the internet said something mean about him" - yep, that's a huge logic fail.

the first post above sounds reasonable and the second sounds like a nut job. That's why this will be such a landslide. And after Trump's unifying speech tonight it will be even more so.

Trumpers are good at projection. They are nuts, so they assume everyone else is. When you try to tell them factual information, they tell you that you are nuts. Up is down and down is up.

Oh, FFS. You may hate Trump, but he's a loving grandfather. He's gruff and they obviously love one another. At least he's not burying his nose in their hair all the time.

They don't care. Being a Trumper is about being part of a club (a cult, really). It's all about them vs. us. They demonize us so that they can justify being hateful. They don't want to acknowledge that they are pretty crappy Americans.. they supported an insurrection against our government. They support a man who states he wants to be a dictator!

That I am a reasonable, intelligent human being who has had enough of people who support lying conmen trying to corrupt our government? Yep, that's me. Trump has ushered in a brand that is unacceptable. You can insult me all you want. Doesn't change that you are broken and I'm not going to play along with your lies and deceit. I don't hate you like you hate me. I pity you.

The thing is that the Republicans actually are in disarray. They’re a group of back biting liars who would cut one another. The anti trumpers are still hiding in the party, dying inside while the rabid trumpers are trying to stomp around.

When it all becomes public, and it will, it will actually be an epic show.
