Mine is a PI.
I wish he'd pick a more traditional and lucrative career. |
| DH is a part owner in a web development company. Love it. Makes great money, has the ability to work from anywhere, and is basically a 9-5 job. |
| DH installs cable and telephone wiring and related services. He's college educated, but this field isn't lucrative and it's highly unlikely that we'll be able to support a family on our salaries(100k HHI). He just wants to work with his hands, he's not an office guy. |
| Police officer. He works very hard and I respect him. He loves it and I support him 100%; lucrative money isn't important to me. |
|
DH is a teacher. He is great at it and parents and students love him. He's home by 4:30, cooks dinner every night, and has summers off.
No complaints here! |

I don't care if I like it; I care that it makes him happy. He's a lawyer. He left Big Law and started his own firm with a friend.
But he's talked about becoming a professional chef. He's talked about playing piano in a bar (he wants to do that when we retire, I think). I just want him to be happy. Selfishly I prefer he not be a garbage man because I've heard even after showers the smell never goes away. |
But he must have some awesome stories. |
Op what do you do for a living? |
| FBI agent. Meh. Could be worse. |
| He's a critical care doc. He was in med school when we met. Honestly, I don't love it. He is really a great dad, Nd I wish he had more time for it, but he is so stressed so much of the time. I wish he had chosen something a bit more family friendly. |
My dh has his own mill work business. Always busy, there are always clients. It doesn't sound prestigious but he makes great money and he's in great shape
|
| My DH is a nurse. I love that he is one! It works for our family, as we travel out of the country back to DH's home country for 1-2 months per year and it's hard to hold down any other types of jobs that he was thinking about. But to be honest I pushed him into it, so it'd be shitty of me if I all of a sudden didn't like that he was a nurse... |

DH is an exec at a big company- like top 10% of the people that work for them in the US.
He's home for dinner most nights when he's not traveling and puts us first. The salary awesome too. |
| My husband is a Deputy Sheriff- the Domestic Violence Officer for our county. He also writes all the grants for the Sheriff's office, and all the grants for our county school system. We also own half of a Driving School (he teaches the driving classes that people have to take when ordered by the court or by DMV). We also own a Home Electronic Monitoring business. We put offenders on either ankle bracelets, phone recognition, or alcohol monitoring, depending on the terms of their release from jail. He retires from law enforcement in a year, and I will be very glad, because it's more and more dangerous every day. Other than the risks that he has to take at work, I love everything that he does. He is an amazing man. |
Does he fly private? |
