I agree with you there--I thought you were just bashing everyone for posting any expression of sympathy. Things definitely veered into the bizarre and mawkish but we are past all that as a thread society and ready to evolve in a new, positive direction! |
+1 DW is an idiot. |

Well articulated and succinct. |
"The Marine Corps confirms that Wint signed up for boot camp at Parris Island, South Carolina from July to September 2001 but dropped out. He never earned the title of Marine." http://www.wusa9.com/story/news/local/2015/05/22/daron-wint-dc-quadruple-murder-suspect/27774899/ No big surprise there. He dropped when it became clear that being the in the military in September 2001 was going to entail considerably more than he originally assumed. Plus, I'm sure he already wasn't doing well in boot camp and there was no way the Marines were gonna keep him around and end up paying out for the rest of his life if he managed to struggle along for a few years. The early separation was best for everyone. |
Thanks for the info. Guess the impact of the separation or the significance to his ego may not have as great as previously thought. Only he knows that. Obviously not talking about any blame to the military for the decision. Was just interested in his thought process and his reasoning and how he made decisions. Looking at program development to help people deal with disappointment, develop reasonable options and move on. People can tend to get stuck in the personal and victimhood of situations. Looking too at early childhood development programs to make this part of their skill repertoire. |
Police saw picture of money on Wallace's phone. Police said they saw 2 bundles ! Acct. told police 4 bundles as did J.W. That right there looks like he had already took his share! Also
why didn't J.W. pick up phone at 11:54 when SS supposedly called him? Was that the last call from D.W. letting J.W. know there job was done!! S.S. had no control of his phone we all know that. |
Or the other two bundles were in the bag and not visible in the photograph, in accordance with the law of bags. SS did make calls with his phone while they were being held hostage: he called NG and left a voice mail, he must have called the bank and/or the IAW accountant - I doubt they would withdraw $40K based on a text, and SS supposedly exchanged both texts and calls with Wallace. If the story to the bank, accountant, and JW was that the cash was needed for the opening in Chantilly, then Wallace was expecting SS to show up in Chantilly and was focused on helping to get the place ready. It is possible that SS may even have told Wallace, when he told him to leave the cash rather than hand to him or wait for him, that he would be busy with something and could not be bothered, and would see him later in Chantilly. |
This report seems to indicate that his separation from the Marines was not voluntary. "He joined the Marine Corps that same year and was discharged for medical reasons, the records show. Wint was at Parris Island for boot camp from July 24, 2001 to Sept 28, 2001, but never graduated from recruit training," Marine Corps spokesman Capt. Eric Flanagan said. http://usmclife.com/2015/05/marine-veteran-arrested-for-quadruple-murder-and-arson/ |
His niece reported that AIW believed the money was for the purchase of art. She probably learned this from family discussions after the crime. SS may have told Wallace a conflicting story as a signal to get people to question what the h... was going on. https://twitter.com/bstone012189 |

One silver lining...not that he'll ever be out of jail. |
The article also notes that he has had 39 brushes with the law, but ICE would not say whether he had previously had a detainer on him. |
I have not been on this thread for several days. Partly due to the snarkiness of one troll. I attribute 99.9% of the snarky comments were posted by the individual. Looks like most became tired of and moved over to websleuths. Sad. |
Bruce Leshan is reporting that the police found a baseball bat in the house caked in blood.
