My husbands nephew just names their daughter a name that is only 1 letter different than my daughter(6month old.) Example: Julie and Julia. They have the same last name as us as well. Would you be annoyed?
No.
Nope
No. You don't own the name. Husband's nephew is too remote a relative (maaaaaybe if it were your sister). You should be flattered they liked the name enough to use a variation.
No...

Oh, and I'm a mom of a Julia and would have no problem at all if a relative named their child Julie. In fact, my cousin named his daughter Julianna well before I had mine. |
Sorry they didn't realize you had patented the name.
No. It isn't even the same name. And even if it was the same name, no.
NO
I definitely would be annoyed.
Nope.
Nyet. Absolutely no right at all.
If they didn't have the same last name and weren't so close in age it'd be no big deal but I could see how that is annoying and confusing for family.
If this is Sophie/Sophia, please tell me you're joking.
They probably want to name her Julia, but it's taken, they chose Julie. No big deal. Even if it's the same name/pronouciation, but different spelling, still ok. In fact I feel honored that they like the name. Imagine Sofia/Sophia etc.
