Northern VA Restaurant/Breweries with Kid Areas?

Anonymous
We are meeting friends in NOVA on Sat. afternoon and we both have 2 kids (ages 4-8). I was hoping to find a brewery or restaurant that has a cool kid outdoor space or something interesting to occupy kids while the parents hang out.

Any suggestions?

So a restaurant with a play ground or play area? I don't think most restaurants have the sqaure footage to dedicate space to something like that. Tables (and people buying things) brings in more money.

Chuckie Cheese or Dave and Busters are the only things that come to mine.

MacDowell Brew Kitchen in Leesburg has an amazing fenced in outdoor seating area covered in sand with sand toys. My kids love it there but it's also got beer on tap and a good menu.

Not sure where in NOVA you'll be but there's a large outdoor area next to this place: http://www.caboosebrewing.com/#home

It is NOT part of the restaurant but if you get an outdoor table you could easily keep an eye on the kids. It's tucked away from major roads so not much risk that a short term 'escape' could lead to any big problems.

not exactly what you are looking for but there is a restaurant in Springfield on Franconia Road called Paradiso. they have a kids room where they show a movie.

Westover Beer Garden in Arlington has outdoor seating and a courtyard next to it. Same with Rustico in Ballston.

Restaurants for adults but with kid play areas are not common to anywhere, including NoVa. There's only so many places that fit this bill, nobody is saying this is the Creme de la Creme of Nova

+1 although the food is really overpriced.

OP here, I was thinking about places that had outdoor spaces where kids can run around, and sometimes those places have a sandbox or climbing gear. Nothing fancy. Definitely not Chuck E Cheese.

We were recently at this place in Santa Fe: http://www.trekaroo.com/system/photos/192773/original/cowgirl_play_area.jpg

Or Denziens Brewery in Silver Spring has a corn hole area. So something along those lines. We're going early so will clear about in time for the adult crowds.

Well that's MacDowell. Whole outdoor area is one huge sand pit.

Where live in Brooklyn, NY there are many beer gardens with outdoor space and they put activities out for kids. Anything like that in Nova?

There's a new outdoor beer garden in Tysons but I don't know what they have for kids.
