Luray caverns

Anyone have any suggestions on a nice place to stay? Looking for something a little luxurious as we are trying to celebrate my husbands birthday but also kid friendly as we will have our 5 year old with us. Thanks.

What about Aloft in Winchester, VA. Look in Front Royal, Harrisonburg, and Winchester as being the biggest towns around.

OR go to the cave in Grottoes VA, (Grand Caverns) and stay at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel in Staunton. Then go to the Frontier Museum the next day.

We've stayed at the Mimslyn Inn and really liked it . It's close to the greenway walk along the river as well

Apologies for the possibly stupid question, but isn't this a day trip? Its 2 hours away and the caves take 20 minutes to look at.

That is a stupid question.
Maybe OP just want to do an overnight trip.
The tour is not 20 minutes. More like an hour. In fact, maybe the line could get very long.
