| Anyone have any suggestions on a nice place to stay? Looking for something a little luxurious as we are trying to celebrate my husbands birthday but also kid friendly as we will have our 5 year old with us. Thanks. |

What about Aloft in Winchester, VA. Look in Front Royal, Harrisonburg, and Winchester as being the biggest towns around.
OR go to the cave in Grottoes VA, (Grand Caverns) and stay at the Stonewall Jackson Hotel in Staunton. Then go to the Frontier Museum the next day. |

We've stayed at the Mimslyn Inn and really liked it . It's close to the greenway walk along the river as well

None of these threads answer the question I am trying to get answered. |
| Lydia Mountain Cabins are very nice and kid friendly. |
| Apologies for the possibly stupid question, but isn't this a day trip? Its 2 hours away and the caves take 20 minutes to look at. |
NP, well it seems OP doesn't want it to be a day trip. Is that okay with you? |
|
That is a stupid question.
Maybe OP just want to do an overnight trip. The tour is not 20 minutes. More like an hour. In fact, maybe the line could get very long. |
So many of these get poor reviews and the property manager (or whatever she is) seems terrible. Which cabin did you stay in? |
| Yogi Bear Campground |
Could you please possibly assume I wasn't trying to be judgmental? Would it be acceptable to you if I rephrase the question as: "What else is there to do around luray other than go in the caverns?" |
Yes, much better question. |
