How Do Loft Sizes Run?

Anonymous
If I'm usually a 4 in pants should I order a 4 or size up/down? I'm asking because I bought a size medium blouse and it was sort of big. Not sure if it was the style or how all of their clothes run. What is your experience with them? Thanks for any input.

Where do you usually buy pants, so we have a baseline.

I usually just grab 2 & 4s and try them on. Depends on the fit.

I'm a 26 in jeans at the GAP, but wear a 2 or 4 depending on the style of pants if I'm buying non-jeans type pants.

I find their pants huge. I can't buy any bottoms there anymore.

I wear a 2 in designer clothes and dresses and even the 0 jeans I bought there last year hang off of me. And I'm not super skinny.

LOFT has the worst vanity sizing of any store, ever.

I find that the bottoms run true to size and in line with the other retailers such as J Crew, Banana Republic, Gap. Their tops however run really large, primarily because of the styling. Most of the tops are loose and baggy.

I agree with this, but for the shirts. I wear a small or even xs in their shirts when I am a medium shirt (size 8 if button down) everywhere else.

I find their clothes run large. I am a Large in the majority of brands, but fit into M there.

I find their pants are true to size, but I need to lose 30 pounds.

I'm usually an 8 in pants and find LOFT size 4 jeans fit me perfectly. So weird. You have to try them on.

I find they run slightly large. So, I'm usually a 6-8 in dresses/tops, and I am definitely a Small there. In pants, I usually wear an 8, but I wear a 6 there. Jeans I find about the same--I wear a 6 in jeans, and I wear a six there. So, while the fit can vary by style, I would order the smaller size you usually wear.

Ugh. I ordered several blousey tops in size medium and they are gigantic. HUGE. I'm torn between returning them for a small or washing them and seeing if they shrink.

And I ordered size 6 pants, also HUGE. I should have ordered 4s or 2s. I have no idea what I was thinking.

Yep - I'm a 12 and at Loft, I'm an 8. and it's not even like I'm squeezing into the 8 either.

Agree. Tops are all like tents. I was swimming in the XSs and I'm 5' 9" and generally a 6-8! Pants not quite so bad but I'd go down a full size.

Best Christmas present ever was a loft size 2 pants.... not really a size 2. More like a size 6 or 26 inch waist.
