I just let my DS get Snapchat (the only social media for now) and I was wondering what others do.
TIA |
| of course |
| I'm not friends with my 16 year old who has it but if it were his first and only social media, yes I would join and be friends. |
| No, just on Instagram. I know about her hidden Instagram page too, but she doesn't know I know. |
| Yes I'm friends but that doesn't stop she and her friends from just sending private snaps instead. |
| Yes, but as the above poster said, most snaps are sent only to one recipient so I don't get it. There is no good way to monitor snapchat. You need to trust your son's judgment on social media before allowing him to have Snapchat. |
OP here. I trust him. That's why it didn't occur to me to ask him to friend me. But then I started wondering if I did the right thing. I think maybe I should have asked him. |
|
No, being friends does not mean I can see his snaps. I spot check, but even then I don't catch him doing stuff he shouldn't.
Also there are finstagram Accounts... Fake Instagram ... They use it to do shit they shouldn't and look all innocent on their real account. |
It's not too late. |
| The only thing you could see are snapstories, which not everyone does. Most snaps are sent to a specific list of people or are used to communicate with just one person. |
| yes, I am, on both snapchat and instagram, though I'm not really sure how snapchat works. |
My dd does nothing naughty on her secret Instagram account. I'm amused she has it. |
| Dick picks and tit picks can still be preserved forever when snapchat is used. |
| Echo the other PPs. Friends on snapchat is not the same as being friends on Instagram or Twitter. The only thing it allows you to do on snapchat is see snapstories. It has no impact on seeing snaps sent to or received by others. |
| I don't allow snapchat, period. It's the worst app ever and its founder is disgusting. |
