Does the Baptist preacher weigh in?
If a member starts bringing her boyfriend to church and she posts on Facebook about attending and tags her boyfriend in the posts except HE'S MARRIED TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!! does the preacher do anything if he's informed? Should he be told? Just be thankful they're at church? Aren't they mocking God when he's an aethest and an adulterer but they post on Facebook that they're in church? No not sure what to do. |
| Minding your own business, for starters. |
Post it on DCUM -- that will help. |
Thanks for the chuckle! |

OP, this is actually set out in the Bible: Matthew 18:15-17
However, you don't say how you're involved in this. |
OP is the preacher, obviously. she is here to preach. |
| Whoever is without sin among you, let him be the first to cast a stone at her. |
Jesus didn't mean you should tolerate sin in the church. I know non-Christians like to spout this line off, but there's a lot more to it. |
+1 OP, I'd like to know how you're privy to all of this information. What if he is actually divorced and you don't know that? |
| Most churches do nothing other than gossip. This is why I quit organized religion. |
| more details please, OP |
| Yes pastors can call parishioners in to the their office to discuss. Ours would and has. Then he/she has to decide how far to go - kick them out, stand by them and patient, etc. |
| church is all about loving each other. |
But only one at a time |
| I agree that you should MYOB. Just addressing the fact that he's an atheist: an atheist attending church doesn't "mock God." My DH is an atheist and goes to temple with DS and me to support the family and understand our beliefs. |
