I also got tired of the constant demand for money.

In the end leaving was easy. The whole thing got too expensive and I am really not interested about who is sleeping with who. Just wanted someone to read the bible and talk about that. Nothing more

Jesus didn't mean you should tolerate sin in the church. I know non-Christians like to spout this line off, but there's a lot more to it.

So church is only for non-sinners?

Folks are supposed to be acknowledging their sins and working in their lives to get rid of the sin by admitting guilt, confessing the sin, and vowing to try harder. Someone who is living in an on-going sinful state without any attempt to stop the sin is different and needs to figure out their priorities. You cant live in direct opposition to Christian teaching, pretending you aren't doing anything wrong, but still proclaim what a faithful Christian you are! Yes, plenty of people do that, but it is a problem.

OP, why not discuss with your pastor and see what they recommend?

And unfriendly her on Facebook. Clearly you can't handle the info whiteout judging so minimize the temptation.

OP, is the guy still actively married? Or is he separated?

It sounds like being in church could do these people some good. That's what it's for.

What difference does it make. If you knew everyone's secrets like theirs, and thought they shouldn't go to church, the church would be empty.

Bah, our minister ran off with one of the married parishioners.
