In the scene where Olivia and Paula make fun of her and then their jaws drop as she does the “striptease,” they’re at least as impressed with her ability to put on a sexy show as they are with her body. Maybe they’re hotter than her physically depending on who is doing the judging, but she knows how to turn on the sex appeal in a way that the college girls don’t. She can rock lingerie and has sexy skilz while they schlump around in ironic oversized t shirts, glasses, and clunky sneakers.

Yep, she is true to her gold digger persona for sure. A bit dumb and just pretty enough.

DP. I think certain posters are obsessed with whether Rachel was sufficiently hot or whether she was too “into herself” because they are jealous of her. They seem jealous of the Rachels in their lives.

DP. Agree. The vehemence with which the “not hot” pp are dumping on Rachel reflects some deep seated insecurities and jealousy. Which is interesting, because the writers were so clear about the MIL’s jealousy over Rachel’s looks. The MIL was well-cast, because you can see that she was Rachel when she was younger, and while she’s still attractive for her age, she’s no longer the stunner that she was, and it really eats at her.

No one is questioning whether or not the MIL is jealous. We are questioning whether her looks and body confidence would be enough to drop the jaws of two college-age girls who are no slouches themselves in the looks department.

The white girl who plays Steve Zahn’s daughter is not hot. She’s overconfident but has blotchy skin and looks like a drowned rat half the time.

She's actually not that bad looking. I see where you are getting that drowned rat comment though ( ), it's something with her eyes. I think they purposely downplayed her body and her looks on this show. Did you see her in Euphoria? She looked very different.

She is guaranteed better looking and younger than 99.9999% of the DCUM middle aged harpies that have courage through a computer screen to say nasty things about a pretty young actress. She is blonde, pretty, skinny, toned, and has huge boobs. Suck on it haters!

They killed the best character of all. Did I miss something?

I agree. I think it over-relied on the sound track to build tension but the plot and dialogue were meh. I found it all ultimately depressing

Anonymous wrote:I am on the Alexandra Daddario isn't that hot train. Plenty attractive to be an actress (which she is obviously doing successfully), but I don't get all the rage over her. Ridiculously attractive actresses in my book include in no order: Kate Beckinsale, Monica Bellucci, Thandie Newton, Marisa Tomei, Jennifer Lopez, Hallie Berry, Sarah Shahi, Marion Cotillard, Carla Gugino. I can go on and on, but these ladies jump off the screen in my opinion and I don't get that from Alexandra Daddario. I am much more attracted to Connie Britton and absolutely loved her in Friday Night Lights. She is getting up there (but so am I).

On a side note - Molly Shannon gives another great performance, she is a criminally underrated actress.

HEAR YE about Molly Shannon being underrated. She's in a very funny show called The Other Two you should check out, too, for sure.

Re: the women you find attractive - I think the separating factor here might be age? Also toughness. I think you like a 40-something who isn't taking any sh*t from anyone, given your list. That's a very different vibe than AD.

Agree, too dark, too slow, too loud. The best part was seeing the nature scenes. I def don’t recommend this.

This girl does not look like she has FAS. She is a cute girl with a hot body. You are just being mean.

Do you know what FAS looks like? I have to assume you don’t since she looks at least like it’s possible.

I just finished this and loved it. Great costume choices and the books chosen for each character to be reading were on point. Blink by Malcolm Gladwell was such a great choice for Shane.

The college girl characters were hilarious.

I really did feel for Kai, though.
