And yes, they hardly make an attempt to integrate into the school community.

When my child was in lower school, there was a kid who’s family was India, Vietnamese, Hispanic, 5 African American kids and a couple mixed race in a class of 25. Lower school does not participate in sports.

Considering most lower school classes don't even HAVE 25 students, and if so not until recently.... hmm.

A friend's child is in lower school without one African American student in her grade.

The last few years they most certainly did. You don’t know what you’re talking about. What grade is your friends kid in? I can tell you right now if there is or isn’t.

I think there is confusion. When you say class, do you mean classroom or grade?

Bullis has 598 white kids out of 831. Or as somebody said a couple pages back; about 72% white.

That is not accurate.

Definitely not accurate. It says 17 African Americans. You can go to the school’s website and see more than that just in the varsity football team picture.

Has the new Head been named? If not, has the search committee indicated when one will be announced?

Finalists will be visiting the campus over the next few weeks.

I don't think he is the issue. It is the culture at Bullis. It won't change until they place more emphasis on educating kids and less on winning championships. That must start with admissions. If they keep lowering their standards it will continue to frustrate parents and they will continue to pull their kids out of there. They are still admitting high school students which never happens at other privates in the area (except in rare situations where the parents have recently moved, etc.)

The begging for applicants email came out today! My kids didn't even go to camp there this year..

Championships = bad

The petty bitterness demonstrated in this thread is disappointing. Folks, Bullis serves a need. It wouldn’t exist if it didn’t. It may not be your match, but why waste your energy in criticizing the Bullis community? Stay in your lane and let those who benefit from their Bullis association be. Don’t be so small....
