Teen Mom 2

I don't think Javi is that great of a guy. He definitely had his controlling moments, and he is just too immature to be married. It seemed like as soon as Kail expressed doubts about having another kid, he was done. They should have tabled that convo for later, when he came home from deployment, but instead he was telling her to get the divorce paperwork started. Of course, there were plenty of scenes where Kail was impossible to work with too, so it's definitely on both of them. He does seem to like being a dad, even though I wish he would have knocked off the "you're the man of the house" talk with Isaac.

Yes, he's super controlling. I definitely think it's a cultural thing. A few seasons he broke it down and said how he should be the man of the house, his wife shouldn't have any male friends and shouldn't be going out with her girlfriends because his mom never behaved that way. Similarly, Latinos tend to have big families. I don't think that he would be happy with only one biological child. It's also part of the reason why he's been such a good step-dad to Isaac. He'll probably be re-married in 2-3 years.

Can we talk about how ridiculous it was when Leah blamed MTV for her being a disaster of a mother?!?!? Does anyone truly believe that she's not like this when the cameras aren't there?? Of course she is!

There's an OG thread a few pages back, but the short answer to your questions is: she's effing crazy.

Totally agree; she'll never be mom of the year. But since she tantrumed so much last year that she was being given a bad edit. She can't claim a bad edit in this case for making her kids late.

I kept thinking, "But you don't work so why again are your 2 children going to be late for softball?" How many of these girls have jobs? I know Chelsea got her license to work in a salon and she probably still has that job. What about the rest of them? How hard is it to be on time when you don't do anything all day?

My Dad used to say "If you want something to get done, ask a busy person." My mom was a SAHM. She laid on the couch or in bed and watched soaps all afternoon after watching talk shows all morning. She never got anything done. We were supposed to wake her 15 minutes before we had to leave to get somewhere. So school ended at 3:15, we got home at 3:20, we had to leave at 3:45 for every activity (since they all started at 4pm) so we woke her at 3:30. She'd come running down the stairs at 3:50 and we'd go tearing out of the house rushing to be on time. At least we were organized as hell.

I don't think any of the moms from either show got a college degree with the MTV money. It just goes to show that poverty isn't just about a lack of money. Even when given thousands, none of these girls used it to get a degree. I wonder how much they've gotten from MTV over the years.

They've made about $200k I think. Kailyn graduated recently (or is about to) fro a four-year university, Chelsea graduated from technical school a few years ago and worked as an esthetician (sp?) for a bit. Leah just started college, but I don't think she was college-bound even before kids. Jenelle completed some tech school as well, for surgical tech. Amber dropped out of high school pre-baby, Farrah did tech school for culinary arts and graduated, Maci has been working on her communications degree for like 7 years (though does attend like one class a semester), and for Catelynn, just graduating high school was a major accomplishment.

Why do I know so much about these people??

^^^ That is a very good summary, but I'm pretty sure they've made like $200K per season. Amber did get her GED while she was in prison. Maci's degree that's taken her seven years - not sure she's actually done - is an Associate's, not a Bachelor's.

According to Adam, Chelsea made 250,000 last season and will make close to 300,000 this season. Now this is Adam talking so take it for what it's worth

Any idea how much the dads make for appearing on the show?

I just watched last night. Let's talk:

Chelsea: I just want to kidnap her to deep-condition her hair with coconut oil. But it seems like she's slowing down on the baby talk? We'll see if the trend continues when her new baby is born. She really seems to be maturing. It's lovely.

Kail: How does she have two sons but appear to be incapable of cleaning up dog puke? Had her friends not bene over she'd have had to handle it herself. I don't know why she couldn't quickly clean up and then just take Isaac to his class five minutes late, or ask one of her friends to run him over there. Why did he have to miss his activity because his dog puked? It takes five minutes to clean up puke.

Janelle: I am so glad she let Nathan go visit Kaiser while she and Baby Daddy #3 went away for the weekend. Seeing him with Kaiser was cute. Janelle is still a trainwreck.

Leah: I think she is making things harder for the 3 yr old than they have to be. Also, she's clearly on something. I wish she'd teach her children to speak properly, but since she doesn't, I guess that'll never happen.

I wish Leah and Corey would get it through their skulls that the MD expert knows more about their child's condition than they do. Ali is not going to get stronger. since she was diagnosed, Dr. Tsao has given them the timeline--at 7, she will begin to deteriorate. She's 7, and it's happening. She falls down 5-10 times a DAY, and they're cool with this? Anything to keep her out of that wheelchair!

I have plenty of issues with Leah, but allowing her children to use the WVa dialect manner of speaking that she and her family use is not one of them. They were learn "proper" English in school. Culture is important.

Besides, Gracie's voice just cracks me up! I want her to follow me around and narrate my life.

She is playing t-ball, including running the bases. I just can't understand it.
