I’m so sick of dogs everywhere

You know dog owners are nutjobs when they compare their dogs to children, or the frustration w/ dogs to cats. No one's taking their cat to go to the store, grocery shopping, restaurant, etc. No one's going for a walk and minding their business be approached or jumped on by a half dozen cats. No one's hearing their neighbor's cat meow for long stretches of time.

Yes, you might run into someone's outdoor cat occasionally, but that's a MUCH less frequent occurrence than dealing with bad dogs or their owners. And at least those cats bury their poop, unlike the many dog owners who just leave it for the world to witness and step on.

nah, I'm sick of outdoor cats, too. Someone's nasty "outdoor cat" using my food garden as a litterbox is completely inappropriate.

Doesn't excuse crappy dog owners. We can dislike multiple things, pp.

I hate that I can hear dogs barking outside my house. Keep your happy dog inside.

How many dogs are actually out there per person in US of A? They are everywhere. At school drop off and pick up. When backing out of driveway. When returning home and going into driveway. At grocery store. At kids sporting events even inside the gym at kids basketball game. Streets where there are no sidewalks and they take up the entire narrow residential street. At grocery stores. It is absurd the amount of hideous dogs out there.

Here's video of a huge dog lunging at a delivery guy in a lobby, startling him and causing him to fall down and injure his knee, all because the huge dog's idiot owner couldn't be bothered to train his HUGE dog not to lunge at people and then decided to take said dog into a business anyway:

People like this are the problem. Don't get huge dogs you can't physically restrain. Train your dog no matter their size so that they don't randomly lunge at people in public. And if you can't do either of the previous two things, don't take your dog into public spaces, especially not indoors.

I worked in retail part time for the discount. It was incredible how many women would bring a dog in the store. It was weird and rude but we could never say anything.

Is there ANY trail in any part of DC MD VA where there are NO dogs???!!! Where where where??? Omg. Can't enjoy a moment in nature without the trying to leap at walkers, pissing everywhere, sniffing people though they are leashed. And their human is on a f phone oblivious or at least acts like it. Are there trails for only humans?

I am no longer friendly to jerk dog owners. I'm not going to say "hi"or offer a little smile if we pass each other. I don't think your dog is cute, nor your behavior as its owner, and I'm not rewarding you with the attention you seek.

I will firmly say "no thanks" "excuse me" or flat out "NO" if your dog approaches me, while I'm minding my business on the right side of a path.

People need to stop enabling rude dog owners and faking being nice. You don't need to be rude in response to their crappy behavior, but be firm and honest.

I've been thinking about this in general lately -- how I'm just a polite person who tries to get along with others and that's less me to just put up with a lot of rude behavior. And I just don't want to anymore.

I no longer smile at dog owners as I don't she their dog's aggressive behavior outside. When I hear dogs barking for long periods of time, I just call in a noise complaint. I will leave a grocery store or restaurant where people are there with dogs, and I will stop and let the manager know it's why I'm leaving.

I just think we've all been polite for too long because God forbid we express unhappiness with a dog and get accused of hating dogs (ftr, I don't hate dogs at all, I just hate when they have crappy, irresponsible owners).

45.5% of American households have dogs, according to the American Veterinary Association.
