Protection just meaning better getting it late than not at all |
I’m sorry |
In an effort to increase booster uptake, the CDC sent a Health Advisory to medical providers last week, which included a conversation guide to use with patients when discussing vaccines. https://www.cdc.gov/respiratory-viruses/tools-resources/downloads/HCP-conversation-guide-508.pdf
The CDC said providers should “make a strong recommendation” by saying: “You are due for your flu and COVID-19 vaccines today. I’ve gotten these vaccines myself and recommend them for you too.” The CDC is also encouraging providers to “Use motivational interviewing when patients are hesitant or resistant to a strong recommendation” with regards to vaccines, with links provided for resources compiled by the American Psychological Association (APA). https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/hcp/engaging-patients.html The APA defines motivational interviewing as “a client-centered yet directive approach for facilitating change by helping people to resolve ambivalence and find intrinsic reasons for making needed behavior change. Originally designed for people with substance use disorders, motivational interviewing is now broadly applied in health care, psychotherapy, correctional, and counseling settings.” https://dictionary.apa.org/motivational-interviewing |
You mean manipulate |
CDC has lost confidence and authority after blowing it with illogical nonsense |
Sick people should mask for all illness.
But Americans are serious dicks and care only about themselves. |
CDC stands for center for dumb condescension. Last I checked, these were the idiots who advocated school closures and all manner of useless yet harmful actions. No thanks. They can experiment on some one else’s kid, not mine! |
Totally. PCPs also don't want to do this, mine never pushed any shots except checking if kids comply with routine childhood vaccinations needed for school. Doctors have their opinions too and have responsibility to treat patients like individuals based on their risks/benefits, tests, health profile. CDC isn't treating patients. |
Where in the report does it say that? I looked at the methodology, and it looked like all government reporting. I did not see anything about data collection from pharmacies. |
This is wrong. Pharmacies reported when the government was paying for the vaccine. A quick google search shows the challenges and lack of reporting when insurance now covers the vaccine. |
DP. I don't know what the report's methodology or sources were, but pharmacies and doctors offices do report vaccinations to the state. At least everywhere I have lived. That should be pretty good data in the states that have immunization registries. |
Yes. And New Mexico has an immunization registry which is what allows it to report such detailed and granular uptake data on the new booster. It includes data from all providers, including pharmacists. "What is the New Mexico Statewide Immunization Information System (NMSIIS)? NMSIIS, administered by the New Mexico Department of Health, is a confidential, computerized repository of individual immunization records that integrates information from birth and death records, public and private health care providers, and parental records. ... The 2013 Legislature passed legislation that Governor Martinez signed into law, making it mandatory for all immunization providers to enter their immunization data (all vaccines, all aged patients) in NMSIIS." https://www.nmhealth.org/publication/view/help/478/ "7.5.5.7 “Provider” means an individual or organization required to submit information to the registry pursuant to Section 24-5-8 NMSA 1978 including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants and other health care providers authorized by the division." https://www.srca.nm.gov/parts/title07/07.005.0005.html |
this is perhaps the key takeaway from the last almost 4 years---most "only care about themselves" |
No, they should stay home if they are sick. Masks are useless. |
People need to get vaccinated. It is the holiday season. Stop the spread for heaven's sake! |
