A few top kids leaving is typically the start of a death spiral, unfortunately.

In the case of BLC we are lucky to see them go

BLC parent here. Not everyone feels this way.

And this is why we have had such a toxic team culture

If you feel this way, you should take it to the Club Director and Coaches. They’ve addressed this before.

The BLC director has a daughter on the 2030 team.

We have great players and coaches. Parents should leave the coaching and roster decisions to the coaches. Parents that disagree with one another should keep that off the field and out of practices. This team exists for the benefit of your daughter.

The parents are the problem, gossipy, meddlesome, and backstabbing, some of them are ruining the team for their own girls and others. If this was just about our 12 year olds and their coaches BLC would be a good experience for us.

Don't worry BLC parents, your team isn't the only one suffering from this. Plenty of drama going on in other teams.

Was always curious why YJ would add a team in Bethesda only for the 2030 class, I guess this drama explains it

Who are you replying to? Learn to include the quote.

this player was picked up mid-season after both BLC coaches witnessed her parents fighting with her previous team MC Elite. No tryout. BLC coaches do not care one bit about integrity but will take top talent in a heartbeat if it means making another team less competitive. And then they added 2 more players from the same MC Elite team, without a tryout, mid-season, for the same reason.

Par for the course and club lacrosse. Advice for those reading and younger players. Quit the sport and play something else that is not this detrimental, it will help everyone in the long run. Badly behaving parents, poor coaching and incompetent and greedy club management is killing the sport.

Because a group of parents shopped which “brand” would give them coaches and uniforms. They have a good group of athletes. Maybe it is actually not a bad model after all.

More discriminating than that for sure. They had to be cute uniforms and a real mascot- not just a lacrosse stick and letters.

This thread has gone off the rails, let’s bring it back and work for a good experience for all of our upcoming 7th graders. I don’t want to compete with the 2028s for who can be the most unhinged group of lacrosse parents. Best of luck to all of our girls.

It's a nice idea. There's still MnD and Hero’s tryouts left. Things might really get crazy in here.

Yeah, spending $100 per head on that tryout is just filling their budget

Both M&D and hero’s have already worked out who they are adding, top players from other teams got a call from them and accepted a while ago. Don’t waste your money

I would avoid any travel team where the coach or director has a kid in your daughter's age group. It just seems like a recipe for drama. In rec, it's unavoidable, but there's no reason to put up with it in club.

Parent coaches are the norm, whether M&D, Hero's, MDU, BLC, Yellow Jackets, its the reality.
