The police are traffic engineers now? |
Right? What do the police know about public safety. And all those shop owners. What do they know about operating a business? And the 4000 neighbors who signed the petition. Why do they care if 7000+ cars a day cut through the side streets? Nobody knows anything except 100 or so nonprofit workers. |
Given that we have more police per capita for any major city and a crime wave not replicated in other cities, we can safely conclude that they don't know much. |
DDOT is a non-profit? |
This is clearly a difficult day for you. |
With DC facing a hemorrhaging revenue situation, residents feeling that DC elected officials need to prioritize reducing crime asap and improving failing schools over other projects, and now with MPD officers opposed, Conn Ave bike lanes just aren't going to happen. At least not in this decade, if ever. |
In that case, you can stop posting about them. |
I agree, there is a lot of really bad crime going on in DC right now. So glad the union is focused on the important work of complaining about Charles Allen on Twitter and writing letters to CMs about bike lanes. |
+1. It’s nice to finally hear from the adults in the room. |
If the D.C. police union is the adults in the room, we may be in more trouble than I realized. |
|
The police union literally took the talking points (and "facts") from the opposition group and turned it into a letter.
Too bad the facts do not support the union's letter. At all. |
There have been over 300 car crashes since the "Option C" was announced by the mayor. How much police time and traffic tie ups did those crashes cause? |
The "Ops"? |
300 out of millions of car trips? |
you really wanna get into proportions? If there are millions of trips on just ct ave, then those 900 carjackings must have taken place over tens of millions of trips. Why do we need to care about that? |
