Is There a Diaper that Doesn't Leak?

Anonymous
Ever since my dd started rolling over, I have been having problems with her diaper holding in her bowel movements. Oftentimes it ends up coming out through the back top of the diaper, and makes a mess everywhere. She was in Pampers Swaddlers and we switched her to Pampers Cruisers a few weeks ago hoping it would help, but it hasn't. She is 9 mos and crawling now as well. Any advice?

different diapers fit different kids differently so you might want to keep trying. huggies worked best for us. pampers always leaked.

Never had a problem with Huggies Supreme

Would you be open to using cloth diapers?

OP here - no, cloth diapers are not an option. I am going to try Huggies, thanks to all who responded.

Yep, we've had poop-up- the-back and we have an assortment of diapers - depends whats on sale and what I have a coupon for. Huggies followed by the BJs brand diaper seem to hold out best.

I've found also that it seems to happen when DD is sitting - like in the car seat or in the swing so I actually wonder if it more of a position thing as opposed to a diaper. Of course, having a secure diaper helps.

I'm still actually trying to figure out how our DD can poop so much that it comes up her back. The physics doesn't seem to make it possible...

Could she be ready for a bigger size? That always solved our leakage problems.

While I had this notion for the longest time that Pampers were THE diaper brand, I finally switched DD to Huggies when she was about 6 months old and have never looked back. I also love the Huggies overnights, DD stopped leaking at night when we started using them.

Yep - we always had that happen when we needed to move up to a bigger size

Before DS was born, other parents made it seem like Pampers were the Holy Grail of diapers. I thought they were awful. Since switching to Huggies Supreme for days and Huggies Overnight for nights, we've never had a leak.

like PPs said, try Huggies and try an extra size. Huggies are actually a bit cheaper than Pampers and work well for DS.

It's OP again. I tried the Huggies Supreme, and they were great until a week or so ago -- now the problem is dd is leaking urine out of them -- usually at night or just now, after a 3 hr nap. She is smack in the middle of the weight range for 3's so I even bought 4's and it's still happening. I never had this problem with Pampers. Do I need to buy the Overnights? Is there another option?

There are I believe 3 versions of the Huggies Diaper-so back to the drawing board! Another thing to consider is that I feel that Huggies diapers run bigger (sizewise) compared to Pampers. At least on our daugher, it seemed that she outgrew the pampers #3 while the Huggies #3 still seemed roomy and loose around the legs. Another thing to consider is if baby is sleeping on their side or happens to be in a strange position, it may cause the pee to find it's way out.

Try the Huggies overnights. I swore I wouldn't use them b/c they are so expensive, but they really work better than the regular diapers.
