DT said that place was a dump, I thought. That’s a small fire. The Help set up a fire and they all had their photo taken around it. I doubt they were spending much time together around it. This is a really good point! Have presidential families ever used government property this way, with the exception of perhaps a plane for travel to some destination? I can’t imagine the Trumps are going to reimburse the government for their use of Camp David. Ugh how gross and vile they are. |

No, of course not. Just like Carter had to get rid of his small farm to retain independence, Presidents are asked to draw a hard line between personal interests and their position. Trump has made the govt pay for rent and rooms at his hotel and apartments for security. He's grifting and this is no different. I hope when he is out we codify some of these previously accepted norms as law, as there is a clear gap that is available to exploit. Tax laws, campaign finance, nepotism laws, bring it all on. |
