I'm about to redo mine with white/cream colored cabinets. No tired subway tiles. On the way out.

Well you do realize that cream, white cabinets are not exactly cutting edge? How about a water jet cut marble.

Why would you pick something trendy knowing the trend will end -- as it has with subway tiles?

And I agree -- white/cream cabinets are yesterday.

The mosaic large patterned ones are gaining in popularity right now. Similar to the floor tiles in this kitchen. http://www.bowerpowerblog.com/2016/03/basement-kitchen-reveal/

If it's a modern kitchen then back painted glass all the way! Super sleek. But yes white cabinets are not that cutting edge. You can do cream but maybe super high gloss and flat panels?

A glass and metal tile mosaic will spice up those plain cabinets.

Black, gray, colored

Subway tiles are actually pretty versatile IF you are not a formal household. They tend to be edgier, younger, and depending on the shape and layout and grout color can transform as your accessories and colors change.

Black, gray, colored

Those gray cabinets are awful. There's not way they will be a long-lasting trend.

White kitchen are and will always be classic. Fresh and light-filled rooms are nice to prepare and eat in.

^ I hate the above tumbled marble squares. It's very dated and looks 1990- 2000s
