Expensive Oil/Change/Tire Rotation

| Just bought a used luxury SUV and knew everything pertaining to it would be expensive. Had an oil change/tire rotation at the dealer soon after purchase (since the previous owner had no records) and paid $200. Suggestions for places in NOVA you like where that would be cheaper (how much?). TIA |

| Walmart, provided they service the type of car you bought. Their shop provides limited services (oil changes and tires) that they're pretty efficient. |

Except for BMWs, I do my own oil changes.
BMWs I take to the dealer because of the free maintenance period. Have not owned one outside of that maintenance period. |

| Somewhat related question but how often do you guys rotate tires and do you always balance them? I do about every 20k w/o balancing. |

| Find an independent shop. Befriend one of the techs at dealership. Chances are they can work on your car on the side at lower cost. |
