I would love to get a tatoo, something small. Any moms have them, where is it located, what did you get and who did it? Thanks. |
I have one, its on the small of my back (yes I know, very cliche). Got it when I was 18. I don't really like it, but I'm not going through the expense and pain to get it removed. |
One on my lower back and one on my upper leg. Both small, done 15 years ago and in other states. |
I have one near my hip bone that was done when I was 19 (I'm now 34). You can't see it when I'm wearing clothes (or even a bikini), so I feel like it's my little secret. |
one behind my neck - animal
one on my foot - inscription in another language I got them in Southern MD 5 years ago. A lot of people compliment them since they're not common tattoos. |
tip?
make them somewhere you can't see without a second mirror. if you see your tattoo all the time you'll regret it. out of sight out of mind ![]() |
Another tip -- don't get one. |
At least give it some serious thought (if you haven't already). I have two, one on my upper arm and one on my stomach/hip. I got them when I was a teenager (15+ years ago) and don't regret them per se, but sure wouldn't mind not having them now. I keep both covered at work - easy for the one my belly, but a pain in the ass for the one on my arm -- have to wear 3/4-length sleeves all summer long. So, I recommend getting something easily-hidden, if you opt to get one at all. |
I have one on my shoulder that I got 30 years ago when I was 18. It's small and only visable if I wear a see threw blouse without a jacket or a sleeveless shirt that has small straps. I don't regret it, but I'm glad it's someplace that I control who sees it and when. |
I have a rather unique big red tattoo on my shoulder that I can't hide...on purpose. I'd tell you what it is, but DC's a small town ![]() I can tell you that Danise Wolf in Libertyville, Illinois did it, and she's great...in case you're ever in Libertyville. I have had it for ten years and don't regret it...but I gave it about three years of thought before I got it. I would not be opposed to more tattoos. Your best bet on finding a good artist to do your tattoo (unless you are looking for flash) is to ask folks with tattoos you like who did them. Walk into a place and ask to see the portfolio books (most tattoo artists have them). |
I have a large piece on my lower back and one on my wrist. I am going to be getting a new one on the top of my arm/shoulder soon. Kinda like a cap sleeve. I have been planning this piece out for over 6 months and will probably get it done shortly before the end of the year.
I am hoping to have either Anil Gupta or Hannah Atchison do it. Both are very talented. Tattoos are beautiful if they have been thought out and are done by a good artist. |
23:06 here. One tip you didn't ask for that I'll throw out there anyway is that you might want to wait until winter so it can heal optimally. New tattoos need to stay out of the sun. So do not-so-new tattoos if you want the color to stay vibrant. It's true you can get color touched up, but it's better not to need to. Use that sunblock!
Another reason is that tattooed skin absorbs more heat that non-tattooed skin, and a burn can do more damage to both the inked area and the aesthetics of your image. This is more likely to happen with a piece that's still healing. |
Now as a mom would you care if your kid/s got a tatoo? If yes - do not get one. Would be hard to tell them not to get one if you have one.... |
I designed a henna-colored Philippine sun for my lower back, but don't know if I'll ever actually get it done. |
OP, get a henna tattoo first in the design you want.
see how it feels... it's good to have an idea of your reaction at people's faces when they see it. if it bothers you don't get the tattoo. if you like the attention, get it =] |
