Cleaning lady bi monthly but I still have to clean.

Anonymous
We have a cleaning every other week but I find myself cleaning for an hour anyway after they leave. Is it just me? Like today I went back and scrubed the bath tub and toilet again. I feel like I still clean all the time. The cleaning lady just does prep or round 1. Maybe we have had bad luck finding someone good enough.

And she ran out of time today so I have to clean the bedroom and guest room myself. Two hours for the bathroom/kithen/living room??? In a 500sq ft apt. If that. Ugh. Just ranting people.

find someone new?

She sucks. You need a new service.

I don't understand "she ran out of time". I take it you are not using a service, but using just an individual person? Maybe find a service instead?

She is charging you by the hour? like hookers?

Wait- you're only paying for 2 hours and expect your bathroom kitchen and living room clean? I would think 4-6 hours.

For a 500 sq ft apartment!?

OP, are you picking up before she comes or does she need to do that?

Well I personally couldn't do all of that in 2 hours myself. Scrubbing a bathroom takes a long time, as does mopping.

Our apartment is at most 500sq foot. Literally one person can be in the bathroom at one time. And we dona wipe down clean every day and I clean it gets clean at least twice a week. Two hours is plenty to clean the living spaces and one bedroom. We only deep clean guest room when someone uses it. We use handy. And get diff people every time.

We pick up everything before they come. I know my expectations are high so I get having to do some extra work once they leave. And in keep it clean in between cleanings. I'm just annoyed an entire room was overlooked. At least do the floors if nothing else.

Ah, a service. Honestly, i don't think a service will meet your expectations. Over time, you train an individual (who is probably cheaper) to meet your standards. A different team every time is just going to do the minimum they can get away with.

You need a service.

We have bi-monthly cleaning on our 2000 sf house. They are contracted 2 people for 2 hours (4 man hours). During that time, they:

Sweep, mop, vacuum all floors / stairs / hallways

Dust shelves, fans, blinds, knick knacks, windowsills

Clean kitchen, living room, dining room, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms

We have two offices they don't clean, and a half bath in the basement they don't clean (our choice).

We pick up before they come, keep things tidy and clean up any messes in-between. But I don't "clean."

They stay until the job is done. Sometimes that means more than two hours, sometimes less. But they never leave before all that is done.

It is not normal that you have to scrub your toilet and tubs after the cleaning lady leaves. I literally haven't cleaned either in 20 years.

Thanks guys. Any idea how to find an individual? I won't use craigslist. Last time I did the cleaner broke my decantur.

If you already clean your bathroom twice a week why have a cleaning lady? I don't think anyone is going to do it up to your standards.
