| Government worker. Leaves for work at 8:00 am and yet comes home at 8:00 pm. Goes to bed at 12:00. |
| Depends. What kind of cereal does she eat? |
| Commute 2 hours each way? |
| How attached is she to her phone? is she irritable? Can you check her emails? |
| You are with her from 8-12-- you tell us. |
| Probably, yes. |
|
OP here. One hour commute each way.
I work on a side project from 9-10 pm and then go to bed at 10. I sometimes asked her when did she went to bed, and she said 12 pm. Am I right to be suspicions? |
| Not enough information. If this is all you've got, I say no. |
| Not a lot of information here...can you share more? I mean there are a ton of things she could be doing from the time she gets off work until she gets home! It does not mean an affair....please provide more details. |
is there another man living in your house? |

I work for the government and I'm working close to 12 hours a day now (excluding commute), because it's my busy season. I absolutely don't want to go to bed right away when I get home. I want some time to myself AND I have chores to do. My husband works an overnight shift and gets in the house at 3am. He doesn't come to bed right away, either. More like 5am. Because you do need some time to wind down and chill.
Without more, I'd just say she's working a lot. Are you helping with chores? |

When I lived in Alexandria and worked in Chinatown, that was my schedule.
Leave around 8, arrive around 9. Work 9-6 / 6:30, or sometimes a bit later. Leave office 6:30 or 7, maybe stop for an errand on the way home, arrive at 8. Same for Metro days. |

Is she trying to get a promotion? I did this to get my 15. She also might be the one competent person in her office and they lean on her more than others. Also the story of my life. If she's in acquisitions, it's also a really busy time of year with big RFPs dropping, including some major GWACs. Also, if they're big on comp time in her office and you are planning a vacation, baby, etc., she might be banking that. There's also the bad, but still not affair, side...is she in a position where she could be bribed to give up information about the govt? How are your finances? If she's at the office alone with sensitive information, she might be an insider threat. Especially if she's not forthcoming about what she's doing so late. You might be justified in being suspicious, but for the wrong reasons.
Tell her next week that you will pick her up from work and go to a nice dinner afterwards. Call her right before she is leaving, as you are pulling up with a nice bouquet of flowers. You can spy and it's really sweet in case she's being truthful about being in the office. That's about all it will tell you, though. |
| No, she is probably doing the work of 3 other people - an ex-Congressman's wife, a space cadet who the office head has never seen, and a guy who composes music instead of working. These are 3 real people! |

Op here. Thanks for the reply.
My wife is a low level employee and has no obvious reason to work overtime. I know sometimes she tries to make up time if she has to drive kids, for example, to dr. appointment, but that does not seem to explain all the late arrivals. Sometimes she sends a message when she is late but often she does not bother with that, like now. I do a fair amount of chores, by the way. I don't know if this is related, but a month ago I was sick and jokingly I asked her what she would do if I die, she replied that since I would go to hell as a non-believer in God, so why I bothered to ask? It showed a lot resentment, I guess. |
