She's probably avoiding you and domestic life. I've seen men do it where they're working late but really they're surfing the web. Perhaps therapy is in order?

Agreed. She's probably unhappy in the marriage. Maybe she's depressed. Either way you should speak and work on whatever issues are going on with her. The fact that she's getting close to faith usually indicates an emptiness in another area of her life.

I am not sure, since when I came home at 7 pm, she would question where I had been.

I don't know this sounds like an affair so much as home avoidance or maybe just a busy work schedule + commute time. Maybe she just goes to Starbucks to get some alone time, or goes shopping.

That comment about you going to hell sounds very harsh and cruel and I think therapy is order, affair or not. Since you are of different faiths, she could be taking that very hard and lashing out at you and magnifying your differences.
