Gonna have a heart attack

Anonymous
Am dealing with:

--two sick kids
--sick nanny
--full-time jobs for me and my husband
--everything else that needs care: cleaning the house, grocery shopping, scheduling doctor appointments, arranging holidays/playdates, etc.
--making sure everyone is as happy and healthy as possible.

I know that things could be a lot worse. But I could really use some downtime.

This was me on Monday except I was sick too.

I'm struggling with life in general at the moment, but I'm learning to let some of the other stuff go in times like this. It doesn't matter if the house is a mess for a little while. It won't be forever. Figure out what the priority is today - likely getting the kids feeling better. Focus only on that.

Been there, done that. It's overwhelming. Something similar happened to me during the school snow closures and DH was out of town. Hang in there. This too shall pass.

For situations where the children are sick and I need back up care, I have used the Nanny Poppinz service and they have gotten me someone ASAP. That's been very helpful. Something to consider.

This gives you a heart attack? I wish I had your problems. Want to trade for my problems?

I was in your place last week, definitely tough! Hang in there, you will make it through.

It's not a contest. People can still have a hard time even if they don't have "your problem".

I'm sorry for what you are going through.

I'm sorry, OP. This was my DH last week, the nanny and I were both sick and two out of three kids as well. I did not envy him in the least, even when I was sick in bed with the flu.

I've been in the reverse position too, and I honestly don't know which I prefer.

Until the kids are well,

Pea pod the groceries.
Pay someone to clean the house. Ask a friend for their cleaners number.
Punt play dates and holidays. Who wants to be around sick kids?

That leaves you with
Jobs
Drs appointments / sick kids

Hang in there OP, it won't last forever.

Take the helpful advice of the PP. Outsource out as much of the work as you can afford, don't get your blood pressure in a tizzy over this!

I vote until the kids are well...

Let the House Get Dirty
Order Takeout

And you can't have play dates while kids are sick anyway so cancel all that.

Look on the bright side: At least you are not sick.
