I know that things could be a lot worse. But I could really use some downtime.

Oh please, what a friggin drama queen.

Oh please, crawl back under your rock.

No room for me under there with your huge ass taking up all the space. Besides, I'm too busy running around after my own family, job, etc but coping not being pathetic princess about it.

Am dealing with:

--two sick kids: TELEVISION!
--sick nanny: She's not your problem
--full-time jobs for me and my husband: OK this sucks.
--everything else that needs care:
cleaning the house- let it go, or hire someone
grocery shopping - instacart, peapod, safeway delivery, order out, buy this at CVS
scheduling doctor appointments- just call them and be done,
arranging holidays/playdates- forget playdates for a while, and become an atheist. I love that the Holiday pressures are off! And also I can stop pretending.
--making sure everyone is as happy and healthy as possible - not something you can ever control.

I know that things could be a lot worse. But I could really use some downtime. - sick kids need more sleep than normal so put them to bed early.

Welcome to the life of a SAHM, minus the job and the nanny. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going. If you're not sick, take leave.

Drop the play dates and holiday planning. That will have to wait. Clean only the absolute must cleans. Do Installer and dinner delivery.

Ditch the dual-paycheck lifestyle.

Yes....Things could very well get much worse OP.

Most especially if you end up coming down w/whatever your children & your nanny have! Keep your fingers crossed that doesn't happen!

This is just a rough patch we ALL experience every now + then in life. Not easy I understand but everyone experiences some "off" days.

Keep in mind that this is only a temporary situation and that like you stated, things could be much worse. There will always be someone out in the world who has it much worse and would trade their life for yours in a heartbeat.

I promise you this.
